Someone seriously needs sacking for that Williams calamity. As soon as button posted the fastest sector time, they should have been out there. Who exactly is in charge of strategy there?

Lewis could have done with some help from the Mercedes PR machine in that interview.

I do wish he'd stop acting so petulant in interviews when things haven't gone his way. It really doesn't do him any favours.
Ok, yes he cocked up, and they're all racers but there's no need to act like a five year old |

Will Bernie be looking for sprinklers at all circuits just to mix things up a bit?

Top tier athlete in gets upset when not winning shocker.
Honestly nothing to see here. Lots of cars out of their relative race pace positions. Should be an exciting GP. |

Posted on the Hamilton v Rosberg thread. I just feel Lewis may have backed up Nico on that last out lap to get Nico to miss the last hot lap. Just the radio, Nico saying, "get him to hurry up!"

It was indeed a MASSSIVE cockup by either LH or the team, I presume LH. If there is one thing I learnt in my couple of years racing, it's that you never back off until you go past the finish line because you never know what is going to happen. |

It was a cock-up, yes. In changing conditions, you really have to keep going to be near the top at the end of it all. Having said that though, the conditions make it somewhat a lottery. The Torro Rossas could have been 1-2 if the conditions had stayed the same, but they didn't.
Great qualifying though. I tend to miss it when I work all weekend, so it was a pleasant surprise. |

Looks like Hamilton wasn't the only one to make an 'error' of judgement in Q3, regarding those changing conditions. Ricciardo has this to say about himself.

A fascinatingly topsy-turvy qually session.
Two Ferraris and two Williams out in Q1. My spin on it is that they (and maybe others) treated the session as a classic "wet, but drying" session and aimed to be the last car over the line. They didn't take account of the fact that there was intermittent light rain with drying in between. So the progressive drying during the middle part of the session wasn't guaranteed to continue. In fact, the quickest part of the session was 2 or 3 minutes before the end, and certain people missed it and only got their run in when it was getting wetter in the last couple of minutes. More ups'n'downs in Q3. The super-fast drying of sector 3 surprised everyone including those who called it right. The difference was, they were the ones who decided to plough on round and see what happens. It seemed a 1 in 100 chance that it would work, but it did! Despite all the technology, all the skill and the combined might of some of the best brains in the world, it all came down to |

It was initially a clean start until it all went wrong along Wellington straight and Raikonnen's car just went off, collecting Massa. What a mess. Red flag.

Hands up those who still think Kimi should be in F1 ... worst rookie driving I have ever seen ... doubt he will see out the year at Ferrari, possibly not the next week

That's the first time a Formula One race has been stopped since the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix.
