Ford V8 firing sequence

I was wondering what the firing sequence of a Ford V8 90 degrees would be?
One of my friends told me: 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2

Could anybody confirm this?

1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 but that's on a modified Corvette C5.
Can't remember the firing sequence of a 90° Ford V8 though.

Shouldn't this be in the Tech forum btw?

Early ford v8 firing order 1,5,4,2,6,3,7,8
Newer ford v8 firing order 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8

If you can be a little more specific as to what V8, (windsor/cleveland/year) it shouldnt be too difficult to work out. Ford made a large range of 90 deg v8's

We were talking about the Ford Cosworth V8 90 degrees that equipped the Lotus cars in 1967.

Fords are not fired the same as Chevy, I know that. Even the newer Chevy's are not fired in the same order as the older units.

LOL doh silly me, the question is being asked in an F1 forum!!

1967 Lotus is my favourite car in Grand Prix legends

Anyhow, 1 - 5 - 3 - 7 - 4 - 8 - 2 - 6 is what i was told by DFV fanatic friend. Hope it helps.

Thanks DannyG.
I hope your friend is right.
My friend said he read it in one of his books and I know he is searching for the answer. I'll get back to you when he finds it.
