in the end it's up to the choice of the actual owner, as long as he has the right paperwork

the Fortina was raced very little, practiced for '86 Monza WSPC "sprint" race, driven by "Gimax" and Fortina himself, did some races of Italian Sportscars Championship (usually contested by the "Sport Nazionale", powered by Alfa Romeo 2.5 V6) and, if my memory doesn't fail, did also some races as an open top version, the bodywork recalling that of the Lancia LC1...

Dan Rear should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
RJ (Bob) Nelkin has posted elsewhere on here, saying he raced a B36 at one point, 2-litre CanAm I guess. Was this car exported direct to the US, or imported from Europe does anyone know?

what is the chassis number and what engine was used
did Opert import to use for his team or sell it as Chevron agent to Tom?

Chevron B36-76-01

Just looked at this thread.

Something strange about B36-76-01. Steven Griswold says he bought this car out of Italy and sold it to Los Angeles. Well, in about 1990, I bought B36-76-01, fitted with a Ford 1600cc engine on carbs out of Italy, together with my friend Mauro Borella, and I trailered it back to England, and later on sold it to a customer in Arizona. It was silver. Does this mean there are two -01s in America now?

It wouldn't be the first time that two Chevron sports cars had appeared out of Italy with the same chassis number but there is another possible explanation. B36-76-01 was a B36 but so was B36-77-01 and B36-78-01. You referred to your car before as "Chevron B36, chassis number 1". Could it have been 77-01 or 78-01?
