Mick Doohan - Change the record already

In my opinion Mick is turning into a real nob!

Okay, this was raised before on the motogp forum a little while back but it has also been bugging me for a while.

Mick doohan is so bloody one sided it really gives me the ****s. Especially his "expert opinion" bit on the motogp.com site. Hello?? isn't a 'expert' meant to have some kind of balanced opinion? Rather then just do rossi's mind games on his behalf!

I'm sorry (dont get me wrong, Mick was a great rider) but he is just such a Rossi suckass and its just so f**king boring. Change the record already Mick!! We heard you the first time!! You wouldn't ever want to give any other riders/teams any credit would you? I'm also disappointed that he had nothing to say about Kato either (not to mention his post-suzuka interview, in which he failed to show much concern for the crash) infact i dont think i've ever heard him say anything about Kato ever.

Sure rossi is good, but he is not prefect, a true expert would be pointing out these faults as well as others strengths.

*end rant

Doohan is paid by HRC, who as a day job also supply the equipment to Rossi's team, who just happen to be mostly DOohan's old team....

A mutual admiration society does get tedious, indeed Doohan never really rated any of the guys in his own Honda squad when he was racing, why would he start now??

Asha, I agree 100%. I don't even bother to read his ravings any more- all he does is praise Rossi and Honda.

Um, did I miss something?

Is it just me or have Rossi and Honda been a bit special recently?

Doohan

After the Japanese MotoGP, there was an article (I think on www.crash.net where Doohan waxed lyrical about the performance of the 2 Ducatis of Caparossi and Bayliss.

So I have to say Mick Doohan calls it as he sees it and always has.

i'd just like to point out that Randy Mamola made a point of saying "its not really 'business as usual' this weekend", in responce to Doohans downright retarded comments earlier in the week.

Mick can be a bit pro-Rossi/pro-Honda occassionally, but considering he does work for Honda, and is Rossi's mentor, would you expect anything different?

Doohan doesn't like some people(Biaggi...) and it shows in his race reports and he does bleat on about Rossi but as f1manoz said, he does work for Rossi's team so what do you expect?

He did go on about how fast Bayliss was too and paid his dues to Gibernau also. He calls it how HE sees it and he knows a thing or two I reckon.

There is a good reason why Mick doesn't like Biaggi, and it's got nothing to do with Rossi.

I remember the garbage Max dribbled when he first came into 500s. Stuff like "Doohan is no good" and "I will beat Mick" and "his record means nothing, he is not as good as it says". Yet, nearly every time they both stepped on the track, Max copped a pasting. And then came the excuses.

Biaggi has a habit of rubbing people up the wrong way. Personally, I think he's a good rider.

Biaggi gets wrong accused of having a bad attitude, maybe back in the day it was pretty arrogant but these days i think he is a good bloke.

Unlike Doohan who is still an ********.

Max was a pain in 250s, too. Rossi hates him, Mick hates him - my mum loves him, but there you go. I'll never understand how he saved that wheelie that time...

Max is quick, no doubt about it. On a privateer bike he nearly won the championship, and he's been the only person to consistently push Rossi - who really is the business. I don't care if he's on the best bike, Rossi is still amazing.

Doohan is an Aussie. I think being an arrogant, opinionated knob comes with the territory, doesn't it?

Just kidding!

TV comedian Dave Allen once said of Australians " They are a well-balanced people....... they have a chip on each shoulder!"
Doohan should not be a commentator in my opinion. As Rossi's mentor and HRC employee he is hardly likely to be impartial. There is a saying in Holland: "Whose bread one eats, his word one speaks." And of course he praised Gibernau......... Gib is on a Honda too.

Maybe it is the fact that Doohan is a typical Aussie. He calls a spade a F****** shovel. He has an opinion and has no trouble in telling people

It would be interesting to see if Rossi could have kicked Max's arse if they'd been on the opposite bikes last year.
