So no Fuller or Wilson at Oulton - Fuller doesn't have the budget and Wilson wants to do some more testing to try and get the tyres working.

Without doing some research, what's the smallest grid ever for a motor race?
The USA F1 GP tyre debacle - 2005 from memory - only had 6 cars running after the first lap, but the grid was full on start. I vaguely recollect what is now the F4 grid being around 9 or 10 cars for a season - but not when. Sutton will be the star attraction, and assuming the car is OK and he doesn't get hit by someone will likely walk off into the distance with Dan Lloyd hot on his heels. |

TCR Portugal gets half a dozen cars at best.

There was a British F3000 race in 1997 that only featured 3 cars and they all finished.

And they even bought out the SC, for ‘debris on track’, even though the cars were running on their own!

British F3 a few years back had 3 confirmed entries at the start of the season before it folded and came back to what it is today.
Clio Cup Jr championship had 3 starters and 3 finishers earlier this year at Rockingham, I know that for certain because I was there and sat through the 20 minutes of "action" which saw Ero overtakes at all. Back to TCR UK. I presume Ash got the call as he does lots of driver coaching for Pyro. I doubt we'll see any form of entry for BMR in TCR this year. |

Launching a tin-top series in the UK alongside the BTCC was always going to be a big risk as the stillborn SCV8 and T1 Series found out.

The problem there is that there's already a pretty well-established ladder to climb to get to the BTCC, where the cars are cheaper and there are more drivers interested in them. I really wanted TCR UK to be a big success - the cars are big, brash, fast and loud, but they're also far too expensive and the only way they'll ever take root in the UK is if TOCA were to adopt the platform... and we know that's not going to happen as NGTC is now so well established. It's a shame, because the idea of TCR (same platform in multiple countries, run the same car all over Europe/the world) seems to be working a little better on the continent. I'm not personally sold on WTCR myself, but I think that's more to do with them being on insanely narrow tracks too frequently. I necer really got into the WTCC for the same reasons. |

BTEC was a total pipe-dream, it was never going to happen. Clio Juniors was a unnecessary addition to an already overcrowded market.

It was always supposed to be a building season for them, but numbers don’t seem to be getting much bigger. Of course there was one feeder series that worked in the past, the NSCC

Only because the BTCC was getting such low entries. If it wasn’t for that, could the series have continued to this day? Who knows. I know the Dunlop Sport Maxx championship was like it in a way and that didn’t last long

Super Touring declined, BTC Touring was quickly blown into the weeds by S2000, something had to be done to keep the series going. I forgot about Dunlop Sport Maxx only that it was the first I heard about John Thorne's team.

Howard Fuller's season is over. Budget issues. Shame because he was mega quick.

Maybe the theme tune for the series should be ‘another one bites the dust’

According to Wiki, 5 of the 17 different drivers have done laps in at least one session every weekend.

Sounds about right- Lloyd, the two Backmans, Taylor and Kent?
Sutton fastest in second test session at Oulton, from Taylor and Lloyd- 11 cars ran. https://tcruk.co.uk/images/events/Ev...stsession2.pdf |
