bobdrummond should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I'm becoming ever more disillusioned by F1. The races are so predictable. Ferrari/McLaren shut-out of the grid, dangerous start by Mr. Schampoo (speaking of which, just how greedy is he?), status quo 'til the pitstops, etc, etc. Furthermore, the cynical nature of 21st century F1 hinted at by the Zanardi scandal,Manufacturer buy-outs (wait for the fallout when they get fed up), undoubted Ferrari bias in Paris and the Button Hype (Manning, Hynes were better) has been propagated by Hakkinen going bad and slagging off DC, Flavio being allowed back to screw Minardi and the certain end of Herberts career in F1. If it wasn't so sweet seeing Irvine being shown up as the talentless twerp he's always been, then it'd be a total loss.
Compare and contrast with the Champ Car series in the US. With only a few chassis constructors and a fair engine supply policy, it's near impossible to predict the winner, or even the course of the race. A series where drivers such as Montoya, CastroNeves, Tagliani, Villeneuve or Zanardi can cover themselves in glory by being no more than superior racers.
This is my long-winded and mean-mouthed way of asking; Should the FIA introduce customer car/engine rules? Should they demand that a constructor supplies one team year 1, two thereafter. It'd allow teams without manufacturer backing the chance to raise the huge deposit and re-introduce some colour into F1. Minardi is the last interesting addition to the field (Just how do they keep going??)

It is obviously frustrating when the politics and pitlane intrigue are better than the race. It is almost like watching a soap opera about motor racing but never really getting to see the race. Apparently the teams, the FIA, Bernie, and Max are all making humongous sums of money and are content to continue on in this manner. I think it will only become apparent to the principles involved when the fans and sponsors vote with their money and stop supporting F1. Unfortunately that likely never happen or at least not in the near future.
