All of the names mentioned in Rust's quote (Crail, Neylon, Noonan, Naulty & Van den Dungen) all already work on Supercars telecasts in some capacity at the moment.

In addition to the others, that is a lot of voices employed over a weekend's telecast, could it simply be a case of they want to trim the amount of callers and his deal was up?

I agree, that 2 pit-lane reporters may be enough.

Larko may no longer be suitable with the likes the aforementioned guys being available also, Not to mention Rusty who doesn't commentate the actual races and leaves that to Skaife and Crompton.
What does he do in between races ?

Then there is also the part time start up ex driver commentary guys you could name, Jnr Johnson, Perkins, Luffy, McConville and plenty others who also do a great job behind the mic !

Could go to anyone of those above.

What a shame....big part of the telecast and does a great job every time.

Next person will struggle to bring everything Rusty does.

Can only wish him the best for whatever it is he does next.

Remember my first full season watching the V8s in 2015, getting up at stupid o'clock here in the UK with Rusty up in the booth and was disappointed when he was 'relegated' to a lane reporter the following year, he'll be sorely missed.

The SBS Speedweek & Bathurst 6 hour presenters?

Richard Craill -- always found to be an excellent commentator IMO.
Chad Neylon -- an excellent presenter IMO.

Whatever they do, it would be great if they got rid of the two expert commentator commentary team -- it is and has always been annoying, too many cooks spoil the broth, they've just been far too jargon heavy! (Yes we know they are driving them as hard as physically possible Skaifey, that's their job. ) The conventional commentary team of a race caller (e.g., Murray Walker) + an expert commentator (e.g., Martin Brundle) works much better.

Yeah a bit of a cookie cutter Neil Crompton. No one needs more Neil Crompton

True. But Naulty is a cookie-cutter Leigh Diffey, and that's ten times worse !

Mike Raymond was a real legend. John Smailes was at least a motorsport specialist even if he was not that pleasant to listen to.

Get Wade Aunger back in the booth. That V8Brutes commentary of his wasn't everyones cup of tea and wouldn't fit into this politically correct environment these days but geez it was entertaining.

The SKY Sports World Superbike days were very Foggy-focused weren't they.... it's ironic their alignment with Keith & Julian finishing up at the end of 1999 as far as World Supers were concerned and Fogarty only did two more events in 2000 before retirement was enforced...

They get pretty excited about Marquez & Rossi these days, but not to the pitch levels of Fogarty on a charge. Suzi Perry and Colin Edwards are a part of the coverage too
