TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Rick "Crash Bandicoot" Kelly trying to do an Ambrose??

Going by the story in menews Crash Bandicoot is trying to do what Marcos has done in the USA over the last two years, trying to race in the Truck series next year.

I don't think that the yanks will like his driving tactics though.

Dunno who Amborse or Crash are, but it really confuses me that a touring car driver, or anyone, would aspire to NASCAR. Why not DTM or WTCC? I don't see the attraction for a driver who I would expect to enjoy late breaking, weight shifting and turning right. NASCAR to me is a step down.

Because having daddy buy him a WTCC or DTM team is way harder than daddy buying a NASCAR team

And what tactics would that be exactly?!!
Rick is one of the coolest customers on the ******* grid!He has shown much more maturity behind the wheel this season that most of the field.'Crash Bandicoot'??
The guy makes one error in 2006 and for that he is branded an accident prone driver with bad tactics by you? Unbelievable!
He would do just fine over there just as he is doing here.
Cheers,
Tony.

So put Rick in the JDR car, without someone to set his car up for him and see how he goes.

If he is faster than Jack or Shane I will do a lap of Indy in the nude!

sounds like you've never seen a NASCAR race in our life! lol

Ambrose is only in the states because of people with rather healthy bank balances.. yet i don't see you posting any threads complaining about that.

which series have you been watching the last 6 years??

the guy's an idiot. if he goes to NASCAR where retribution on the track is more favoured than it is here, i think you'll find him in the wall a lot more often

well good on him if he goes he has won everything here (no matter of how you think he won it) why not give it a go more of the drivers should, onya Rick hope everything goes well.

atleast he and Ambrose can kick on with the GM V Ford rivalry.

but like eNews said it could be for 09, would be interesting if they introduce 2 new drivers in at Toll HSVDT.

37 rounds, 43 cars all doing 300kmph + the entire race at most tracks racing on half mile, mile, mile and half and super speedway 2+ mile tracks as well as a couple of road courses, 100+million in prizemoney TV ratings only second to the NFL, corporate sponsorship from all sorts of industrys, crowds of 200,000+ at many tracks, and drivers from FI and Indy (Montoya, Franchetti, Villeneuve) joining the series.

A step down??? I love Supercars and am bias on their behalf but suggesting Nascar is a stepdown is surely a case of letting personal preferance getting in the way of the odd fact

Do big crowds, big money and 37 rounds really do that much to appeal to a race driver though? Most of these blokes have families and are already pretty busy, and when did lack of crowds or a paycheck ever stop a race driver from getting out on track?

How could I forget...

"I wanna go fast"

That explains it. Or more accurately, "I wanna go fast and get my head on a bag of coffee beans".

RICK for Truck series

Surely RICK couldn't do any worse than STEVEN WALLACE.

I've never known someone so bad get so much TV coverage(Wallace).

Must help when your dad is a legend of the sport and also commentating the sport too.

I wonder whether John and Margaret( mum and dad kelly) will sell HSVDT and buy a NASCAR team.

Touring car driver? Who are you thinking of, this is about a taxi driver, no touring cars in that championship. Besides, V8stuporcabs, NASCAR, NASCAR Trucks (TRUCKS!!! Isuzus are bigger!!) is there really any difference?

Jeff Gordon is on track for around US$35 million this year I believe.

The 1st two you mention are fringe benefits, the 37 rounds means its tough. then add the part of racing door to door at almost 200 miles an hour in sedans inches from concrete walls is what appeals to the likes of "Race drivers" like Montoya, Ambrose etc.
