fatbloke should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What do you make of the new rule in the 2001 BTCC which allows the organisers to tamper with a car which gains a clear advantage over their rivals ? Apparently they plan to penalise a team who throws everything into winning - such as Nissan last year.

I don't like the idea at all - if the lesser teams can't keep up, let them spend their own money and time developing their car, not going crying to the organsisers who then wipe out the best car's advantage.

Whilst I agree that it does get boring if the same person wins everytime, restricting the most competitive cars/drivers just creates a false situation...

Isn't this what they do in Nascar?

I hadn't realised that was part of the new rules, surely no sensible person can be in favour of that sort of rule because it just creates a totally false situation. As far as I'm concerned having to put up with the sucess ballast this year is bad enough! Does that stay in the rules for 2001?
Nice to see that even though the NSC pugs have the extra weight (supposedly to curtail their sucess) they're still on the front row of the grid at Donington Watch out boys, you obviously haven't read the script and in punishment will have an extra 40kg added at the next round to help everyone else play catch up
