Two cars! Derani in trouble again. Him and an LMP3 car off. The LMP3 car got going.

Looked like it was stuck, but it got going. Blast, just after they called the yellow. very frustrating.

Edit: he just got caught up in the LMP3 spinning.

Needs a new front end. Back end not great too?

I think Hindy is correct about flexibility. When they started to slip back, they should have changed their plans and pit for tires.

I agree because of the rules he stayed out. It’s an endurance race and they are playing the best hand they can.

The main problem is that they didn’t throw the black and orange. Like yesterday with the Porsche GT.

Yes.

But it’s a hard decision. If you just hang on to the next stops then you just lose seconds. If you pit and then your strategy gets out of whack it could be a disaster. Could also would out really well if you luck in too.

Ultimately they just got caught up in someone else’s spin.

I think I’d have worried really hard about what to do, but might have just tried to make it to the next stops.

I guess if you are given that and have to come in then it is. They were talking on RLM that if they voluntarily came in it would count as emergency, so I guess with it would be the same with the flag.

Doonan is understandably, but frustratingly, being non-committal on the subject of MSR's Daytona penalty. It almost sounds like there was an agreement between IMSA and the manufacturers over the penalties applied.

Lance Armstrong had his Tour De France victories removed long after the results were published.
(And same for some others that cheated there)




That's how it should have been at Daytona too, IMO.

You cheat => you get thrown out, you lose all points, all silverwork, all medals, everything.
