Russfeld should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Danica Patrick

Why did she leave Haywood mid-season in 01? I thought she had plenty of funding from Ford. At any rate she's now got a mega contract with Bobby Rahal in CART and is running some Barber Dodge Pro races this season and has a fully funded Atlantic ride for next.

I guess thats what happens when you survive the festival *rolls eyes*

I think the reasons are pretty obvious... Rahal obviously thinks she has a lot of talent and can compete with the best. Having never seen her race, I have no idea... Although I must say, for a woman race car driver she's certainly pleasing on the eyes . Who needs pit babes...hehe ok, but seriously, Rahal obviously thinks she can compete in Champcars in the future... so it's her best opportunity.

Or he think she's good marketing value and fast or slow will please sponsors.

Ive never been impressed with her looks (or attitude for that matter). I think the reason the men get all excited is because she's one of the few women drivers so by default and % she's 'attractive'

well, you've seen her race, maybe met her, I haven't yet. I'll see what she's up to in three weeks time at the Toronto race. Although she'll likely still be getting used to the cars so maybe not a good judgement.

Yeah...that's probably a lot of it. But, I still don't think Rahal would take the chance on her if he didn't think she had some potential.

from bobby's point of view, it's a damn good opportunity to get some publicity for his little driver training scheme he's got running. get a girl in, get her to do some nice interviews with the press saying what a good idea it is, and bingo.

any girl is easy on the eye if she's got a decent car...

She's very young and this shows in her attitude. Stroppy is a good word for it.

I agree with Russfield on the attractive thing - up close she's nothing to write home about.

Still, a deal with Rahal is commendable and at least she's carrying on from her Festival performance with a career progression - now all she has to do is prove it wasn't a fluke.

I really hope she can keep it off the wall for a few rounds at the very minimum. And getting to Cart would be great too, although that might be a stretch. I would probably would have been against it a few years ago, but Cart needs some publicity.

As for looks, it helps, but if they're not in her favour, as bella implies you can always just look at the car.

HOTorNOt.com is a strange site where you post your pic up and get it rated by millions of people! You flick thru rating people, either women or men according to your preferences. Its all very clean, no porn! I dont know whether she is still on it but she was.
