Certainly came as a surprise to me- although, JMW's background is very much as a Ferrari team- team boss Jim McWhirter used to race in the Ferrari Challenge series in the early 2000s

There were comments on DSC from Tim Sugden about there being a number of reasons for the change, some of them commercial.
JMW are keeping their Dunlop deal according to the DSC report, so it looks as if both teams will be running Dunlops

Aren't Jota planning long-term on being one of AMR's LMP customers? Maybe this gives Jota a stronger relationship with AMR, which might explain JMW's return to Ferrari?

Yep they are moving up to the LMP1 car in 2012. So yeah I'd say this year they are the number 1 customer team.

Hopefully JMW will keep that great livery and transfer it to the 458 this season.

It's three out of five, and it's possible, but a bit unlikely. Certainly less likely now that none of the races are likely to give out double points, capping them at 6 hours will prevent them from going over 1500 km.

You'd need a lot of luck to pull it off... the factory teams will steal too many points from each other to be ahead enough, I'd think.

Missing two races in a 10 or 12 race season is one thing, but missing one third of the races is probably too much...

Reminds me a lot of the Young Driver DBR9 but looks alright to me. Cant wait to see that beautiful Dunlop livery back on a Ferrari, certainly a surprise that they switched but if Jota are more in favour then I can understand why they did it.

As I recall, they lost out on the 2009 LMS title in their first year by 1 point, after Felbermayer's 5 cylinder 997 just about scraped a couple of points at Silverstone.

They won the class in the race, but JUST missed the title.

Not sure whether I take this to be truth or wishful thinking, but Kessel Racing look to do some LMS rounds this year in a 458. However primary focus seems to be GT-Open.
