On a more serious note as we have been away the lawn has got out of control and as it has been p***ing hard since we got back I haven't had a chance to mow it until today.
I had to repair the mower for a start and then the only petrol that I had was in the race van, 5 star with octane boost ! however it didn't cut the lawn any faster

I have been a bit misserable since Saturday at Monaco,Can I take this opertunity to appologise to all my friends who came to Monaco especially G.P .
That was then, and I am now back buzzing as just popped down too the shop to get Crunchie Nut Corn Flakes and two pints of milk ready for Zandvoort weekend. I then Bumped into an old friend who is comming too the Stoke Row Race Car Show,he was full of enthusiasem about the weekend which has cheered me up no end. The sun is shinning, shorts are on,what more could you ask for.

Not surprised you were miserable Iain. I would have been too. Great escape plan on Sunday though, well done.

However I'm not sure I would be able to cope with emotions of a roller-coaster weekend like RW experienced despite the successful bits.

I think whatever the story is, it will be better coming from Iain!

Amusing interlude- the combi oven in Big Truck popped the circuit breaker the other day. When not even on. Had to call the service dept as it's only 8 months old. Very difficult to explain why the engineer needed to come to an industrial estate! After changing every circuit board he could find finished up I'm getting a new oven..... This will not be connected and just be for show- just in case. The quassons will have to be consumed cold

I'll give you a brief rundown on Iain's Monaco. The weekend started with a scrutineer physically forcing the airbox gauge into the restrictor and declaring several cars illegal. The next scrutineer was more gentle and passed them. Iain went out in the first session and was lying third when it was red flagged after one lap. He ended up about 10th in that session. In the second session he was again going well, but backed off on the last lap when he saw the red lights indicating the end of the session, mistaking them for "red flag lights". I was timing from a point before he lifted and had him nearly 0.5s quicker than the official time. That would have moved him up three or four places from his eventual position of 14th. He also had to visit the CofC for crossing the pit exit line after the red flag in the first session...

In his heat (started in F1 style) the red lights went out and the amber lights briefly flashed on. Iain backed off, and when he put his foot down again a fuel pipe burst. Slow lap back to the pits.
