Group C pictures
Having just seen these amazing beasts at Brands Hatch( last chance on Sunday people) does anyone know of any good sites with good quality pictures of these awsome cars.
Just want my desktop to have a group-c flavor next week. Cheers |

I've stucka few pictures up. Sorry about the (lack of) quality, it really is about time I got a proper digital camera instead of using my camcorder!

For some 'in period' shots, try :
http://www.sportscar-racing.co.uk Don't worry if the quality's not great, as 99% of the shots are original, so I can scan you a better image if you want one. Lot less catch fencing in the 80s/early 90s, too... Shameless self promotion ends Cheers. Last edited by marcosgt; 19 Jul 2004 at 09:29. |

Yeah, those Group C / GTP cars were bloody fast on the full circuit!
They also set the lap record for the current version of the GP circuit with Sheene Curve and the modern Graham Hill bend |

Shame you didn't take any at Sheene Curve, the fastest cars really were doing the most beautiful (if subtle) four wheel drifts around there (yes, you heard me right )

Hi Spanner, You could have a look here, not as good as most you see from the pros here, but they are in period and taken on film and from many diffrent events, not all sportscars. Last edited by Nordic; 21 Jul 2004 at 16:52. |

hmm theres some nice pictures there. Paul, i dont know how you can claim lack of quality! They looked pretty good to me Though there is this mark that seems to appear on all your photos on your site, dont know what it is
Nordic, those are some nice pictures. How were you able to get pitlane access back then? Some interesting ones as well, I didnt realise the XJ220's ran in the BPR days! The Nissan FromA car was the only one that through the wheels you could see the brake disks glowing when braking for Paddock. Looked amazing especially on the darker, clouder saturday. |

A friend of mine told me about the brakes on the Nissan on Saturday, said it was a glorious sight
The problem with the weekend just gone is I've just spent two days focusing purely on sportscars, with th exception of the Historic FF's and it's fanned the flames again. They weren't dying down but I had been a bit FF1600 centric the last few weeks (which isnt a bad thing and I still love them) now I'm in real turmoil about Bank Holiday weekend...Oulton for the Gold Cup or Thruxton for the British GT's I'll probably stick with the original plan of Oulton as the Group 4's are supposed to be there and that should be an experience (especially poignant as one of my first motorsport memories was as a 6 year old being at Oulton when Paul Hawkins was killed in his Lola) Last edited by PaulSands; 22 Jul 2004 at 13:02. |

Paul
I vote that you go to Oulton park and get photos of the Group 4's. |
