I think the car was the same he used that year in the Brands Hatch 6H, Nurburgring 1000 km and Spa 1000 km (entered by Julian Hasler) among other minor races.

thanks
Three years as passed and I'm still looking for this info. Maybe I have some luck this time.

Happy New Year to all of you,

47-GT-27

& a happy new year all

GTB, perhaps you can help with the Australian 47 history. Trying to confirm the history of the car driven in third place by Teddy Yip/Henry Lee at the Wanneroo Six Hour in 1970.

A 47 was raced in the meetings before the 6 hour by Don Hall replacing the Elan raced in earlier years at Caversham then Wanneroo.

A 47 next appeared in WA in 1971 in Chris Roystons hands as a member of the Shell Racing team
http://lotus-europa2.com/picview.asp?page=47-GT-27
& the car remains in Aus?

Teddy Yip & Henry Lee were punting a Porsche 911S around Asia in those days & do not appear to have raced a 47 anywhere apart from Wanneroo.

I understand there were 2 x 47s in Aus, can anyone help ?

NZ 47?

In response to an earlier photo of a Lotus 47 at Hampton Downs, this car was a Lotus Europa that my brother and myself converted to a 47 for my father. The car has a FT 200 ,1800cc all steel Twin Cam, Lotus 47 rear suspension etc.

47-GT-21

About the Portuguese 47's I can say quite everything about my car the GT-21!!!

Now I'm nearly ready to start the full restoration of mine, as I have a friend who want to build a replica to race together on the EU historic championship!

....now I'm trying to find some spares which is not easy

Hello,

I am looking for the chassis number of the 47 raced in 1968 and 69 by Keith Holland and Geoff Daryn for the Molash Racing Partnership?
The car had flared and badly cut off wings and was white/red stripe.
Does anyone knows?
Thanks

So, I put again this topic on top.
I am highly interested by the 47 and look forward reading stories about these cars.
Is there any owner here? News about recent changes of owners for some 47? Or any other thing of interrest for 47 aficionados?

So no reaction to this topic.

For informations some 47's are for sale at the moment including two fully race ready :
In the UK ex-works car 47GT04/78 is still for sale at Charles Leight Ltd.
In Italy 47GT21 which was raced recently

Also

In Denmark 47GT73 restored but without engine
In Belgium 47GT77 at Vanderveken cars

At least 4 cars in Europe, this is not bad given the scarcity of the 47!

The Coventry Climax engined car has been for sale for the last few months, now fitted with a Twin Cam. In the 1st advert the fully rebuilt Climax motor was for sale with the car, the last ad was just the car with the Twin Cam fitted.

Somewhere in my photo collection is a 47 with a renault ? gearbox & crossflow, car was in bits. supposed to have been built by Lotus Components, it was £1600 & I turned it down but then I turned down an ex works DB3S for 6k 40+ years ago - where would i have got that sort of money

Yes the ex-Climax engined 47 is 47GT20 and the car was for sale recently in the USA.

Concerning a 47 with a Crossflow engine and a Renault gearbox, yes they were built by Lotus Components like every 47. A few of these type (it is said 6 or 7), names 47F were built, maybe to try to sell 47 hard to sell at the end?
It would be nice to see this interesting photo!
