2012 btcc liveries

Name your top 5 from media day

Mine would be - Eurotech - Pirtek
- Welch - Sopp+Sopp
- WSR - Ebay
- Motorbase - Redstone
- Es Racing - Multifuse/Coffe Drops

My least favourite has got to be MG, way to busy then Gilham. So much more could be done with Jeff Smith's car looks unfinished.

I'll be uploading some photos later, they're not the best I've ever taken (playing with a new camera + the joy of trying to get photos at Silverstone...) and they're mostly side shots only, but should give you an idea.

Loving the new livery on the Proton, almost even makes the car look good.

My favourite scheme goes to either Wood or Smith, and the I-want-to-tear-my-eyes-out award is a toss-up between Plato and Gilham but in the end must go to Gilham.

Thanks for all who posted pics for those of us overseas.

the MG colour scheme just smacks of "we aint got much of that blue left, however we;ve got plenty of tinends left ill let you have for a bargain price to clear my shop floor"

granted its still got lots of "last minute white" parts on the front end but its not like a fresh coat of lippy would make you look at susan boyle and go "oooh actually I would" is it....

Interesting how The Sun have got a totally different view on the colour scheme...

'amazing technicolour dream machine
'

'Its radical colour scheme — designed by "visual magician" Ian Hutchinson, the man behind the iconic Silk Cut Jaguars and 7Up Jordans — soon caught the eye.
And Plato is confident the car will go as fast as it looks.'

Somehow, I don't think Ian Hutchinson will be referred to as the man behind the iconic multicolour MG in years to come. Although, it's never going to be easy to find a scheme that suits so many different sponsors and logos.

Boy, and us Aussie complain about the way our cars look. We should be
lucky that our designs have some form, function and style. Most of the
BTCC cars look very ordinary indeed. Plato's thing is hideous. And why on
earth would you have a white keyline around yellow (Pirtek logo)???
The white "bleeds" into the yellow making it hard to read clearly.

Interested to know if there are any or many specialised motorsport design
company's over in the UK / Europe???

Had a look at his website and he's done some good stuff over the years. Not so sure about this one though.

I quite like most of the designs in the V8s, less empty spaces and cluttered sponsor logos.

I personally couldn't care if the liveries are ugly or not.

As long as the racing is good, that is all that matters IMO.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vanuf Design doing every livery in BTCC, he's one of the best racingcar livery designer I've seen.

You guys seriously have no reason to complain, I find the liveries in the V8 Supercar series to be of very high quality.

Most of the liveries in V8 Supercars are great. I think one of the reasons is the teams have multibple sponsors instead of one big sponsor like in WTCC, BTCC and DTM.
