Not only does this total lack of space affect GPL, but everything that both I and my parents do on the PC. I don't know why I seem to be the only one to experience this problem, if you guys say you're running less memory but having no problems, maybe you can enlighten me on this??

I'm wondering whether what you refer to as 'memory' is actually hard drive space?

I'm very sorry to hear about your PC problems. Although on the plus side could this be the time to pester for an upgrade?

We will miss you in the league and hopefully it won't come to that if we can help it. If it does we will keep pestering you for when you're coming back.

Perhaps we can do some troubleshooting to help you out if we can?

TTFRL Final Standings

The Final Standings have been published on the league website. I hope my calculations are correct!

Also, I hope to start work on the TTFRL Season 2 video soon.

I mentioned this a while ago. As you know, when reviewing replays you tend to look at your own race.

To try and catch all the action would take a very long time. So my appeal to you TTFRLers is to help me out on the footage that we use.

I'm a hoarder so I still have the replays from the races I hosted during Season 2 which I have uploaded. Due to my PSU failure mid-season there are some missing. If any anyone has the replay from any of the other rounds please let me know.

My request is for anyone who sees/knows of anything in the replays that they would like to see in the Season 2 season review video could they email them (zipped preferable, but not exclusively) to the address on the TTFRL website/in my Ten-Tenths profile.

The available replays are here (in no particular order) :

Goodwood
Mexico
Monza
Mosport
Nurburgring
Leman Sarthe
Spa
Zandvoort

Lets see if we can make this one that we can proudly present over at RSC.

Thanks guys.

I have Snetterton, Monaco, and the Kya practice race.
They're both ~22Mb though so there's no way i can get them to you.

Not to worry p.

If you come across any good bits, just save the small snippet of replay. That should massively reduce the filesize.

I mean that in the guise of 'if you ever get chance'. Don't worry if you can't/don't want to.

Actually, I've just noticed that I didn't say in the original post thas if anyone who sees/knows any good bits to save the snippet and email it.

Well, maybe it's not quite so bad after all. Not quite a false alarm, but crisis averted - for now. Blame my seeming personality trait of jumping in with both feet way too early for that dramatic outburst

Earlier tonight I actually got down to 0MB. Spud, yeah, by memory I mean hard-drive space. Am I just getting confused through ignorance here? *Bows down to Standard Grade Computing jotters *. I've now reinstalled GPL to run in "Typical" mode, off of the CD. Thankfully this has saved quite a bit of space, now running half of what the Full installation was. So with 60-odd MB left, I'm still a bit low, and certainly quite a lot off the supposed recommended 200MB for safe running, but it's a hell of a lot better than I was earlier today. My only worry is that (I think) I was around 60 just after I DLed the 65 mod, and proceeded quickly to 0, so I'm still sitting edgily on whether/how long it'll be before it goes back to zilch again. But it's bought me some time, and should keep me GPLing up until I (hopefully) get a new PC

Phew! Sorry bout that!

Woohoo! Excellent, been looking forward to putting together the season movie for a while now Kinda ironic though I guess, given my current ramblings, cos I doubt that I'd either have the DL time/patience and/or hard-drive space to nab a copy of the finished article Ah well, that sure don't stop me from putting in my contributions Had quite a number of highlights, will search through the several replays I've got and maybe DL Mex (where I got disco'd, one of the most annoying and costly moments of my season ) replay, and have a scour through that too

Just adding an additional hard drive would solve your problems. The prices at the moment are absolutely dirt cheap!

5 years ago I paid £130 for for a 6.4Gb HD. 2 weeks ago I paid £45 for a 80Gb HD. A lower capacity drive would be even less (obviously!).

Combined with the 40Gb drive I already had it's taken me up to 120Gb of HD space. Niiiccceee!!!

I almost don't know what the hell to do with it all.

At least I don't have to worry about space when creating the uncompressed source files for the TTFRL Season 2 video.

I'm hoping maybe I can get some help, or at least advice. I've been trying to find a copy of GPL or SCGT, but none of the stores in the area semm to have much in the way of sims for Macs.

GPL doesn't run on a mac (I think one or two people have managed it, but it's fairly unstable IIRC.

Er, I found one clip but found cutting bits and such tedious, and I never got round to sending what i had to Spud.
