Dataloggers Pi / Aim or something else ??

I was just wondering what the FF 1600 drivers think about Dataloggers ?? We use Aim, what do you use and why ???

Pi2 as I can actually work out how to use it, and C-dash is too busy for my small brain to work out. I have used a stack system once before and that was ok - but very expensive to buy and quite bulky.

Bob says Pi is **** though and aim is the best? He was going to show me at the WHT but never got round to it.

I have used Pi on the RF90 and it was really good and easy to use. The RF01 has a C-Dash and I like the LED shift lights as you don't need to look at the dash but not managed to get the data part working yet which is a real bummer.

Cliff showed me the AIM one at the A1 and it was better than Pi and a lot cheaper.

Have Pi on our cars with seperate dash and logger box. We spend more time chasing little problems than actually using the data! I'm currently putting the 89 back to standard dash guages so that when the logger cocks up we still have a usable dash.

Heard that Aim are pretty good, but never used one.

could one of the dempsey bring some of the aim data to anglsea this weekend, and perhaps show me a bit and walk me through the system.

Ive often though about data logging but never seen one which provided any information.

We may not get their as Irish Ferries are not sailing at the moment, but I will bring the info if we travel. If I can be of some help with loggers let me know.

Has anyone used the DL1 Logger?

that looks pretty good and pretty straight forward.

you can have it stand alone with no sensors and it works off GPS. You just put it in the car and it uses GPS to track the circuit. Then you split the circuit into sectors and check your times for each sector.

You can add all varieties of sensors, but the base unit which can be used alone runs to about £500.

Some possible good news - Irish Ferries are reporting that sailinings will resume at 3pm tomorrow. I'm sure they'll be able to shoe horn your truck in a wee corner somewhere

I hope you are right as we priced the other Ferry and it is expensive

We use Pi Delta Clubman loggers, which are very simple to work with.
Takes under 1min (no under-adsaduration) to plug in, download and save data from any session, and about 30mins for a good analysing period, in which we use 'Pi Car Analysis' to, wait for it, analyse the data.
Takes some getting used, but once you have mastered it, very easy to use. I'm still learning new things everytime I use it.

I currently use Astra Tech, which is simple slow and old fashioned (bit like me), but reliable and cheap (unlike me)!! plus i do have 5 years data that wont transfere!

I have seen CDR'S AIM and do intend to run them in the future, both on cars and karts,..... much better than the PI systems i have used.

We ripped out all the data laogging on our car.

Just told the driver to go like hell. If he's in front - the cars fast enough. If he's behind - try harder!

Just so easy to blame the car...

Would the AIM users please state the exact models they are referring to (PM if necessary). Only I like the sound of £805+VAT rather better than Pi's prices however I can't match it to any of the systems on their website.
