DMN - Silverstone International 26th Aug

So...entries for this close at the weekend and we are filling up fast. Entries close this weekend and if people are wanting to enter who haven't already I will be at Brands on sunday to take entries!

Should be a great meeting as its not very often there is the option to race on the international circuit.

I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Ok so I'm going to do the usual brass rubbings. Which one is the International circuit? Is it the one with the Hager straight? Or the one that turns off at Becketts?

Amazingly the Silverstone website doesn't bloody say!

The international is the one that turns off at Becketts and uses the international straight down to Abbey and then joins in to the rest of the GP circuit there. Shown below in the darker bluey green colour.

I'm certainly looking forward to it.
Chezza - are there separate classes for Tin Tops _ I've entered ,but I'm registered for both - prefer Tintops if they are there.

p.s. Could you amend entry form - Car is in fact a Vauxhall Astra, not a Vauxhall Sh*tbox - entry form filled out at Lydden about 30 mins after driveshaft failure !

New driveshaft fitted, new pads in post somewhere, big crack appeared in windscreen without the car moving - anyone know a windscreen firm in kent/se london with sensible prices ? (Glued). Noisy top end due to clearences opening up (gone solid followers) will have to wait till after Silverstone for reshim . Will try and get to Brands on sunday to watch the action - nobody on the naughty step this time please !

Lol will do Alan. Have you down as tin-top.

It is a shame that you won't be out to play, hope you will still come along though Alex, will be good to meet you as I didn't get along to Combe.

I'll be there Chezza, my son entered in the Tin Tops in my spare car. I didn't have the heart to say "Tuff, I'm driving it". Red 205, No:47 I think.

Its a meeting being run by BRSCC and CSCC.

BARC SE were able to by a grid for the DMN so they could go out to play. Not sure what else is on over the weekend though.

I'll get a copy of the timetable from the BRSCC tomorrow and stick it online somewhere

Edit - this at least gives the championships... http://www.brscc.co.uk/calendar/39.html

Rod,
Thanks for that. I've managed to source a screen, and some sikaflex 255 windscreen glue. Will probably call your man on monday after I've broken the bloody thing

would have given you a hand to do it but stuck on the parking lot ring (m25)for over 6.30 hrs.8.30hrs in a car is quite enough had to have a lay down due to sheer exhaustion.

Jamie, whatever you do, don't change it yourself (if bonded) or if you do wear gloves. Didn't make it to Brands yesterday as I changed the screen on the Ashtray. Now got hands blacker than Newgates Knocker. Does anyone know how to get Sikaflex 255 off ?
tried, parrafin, petrol, Cellulose thinners, Industrial acetone, Jif with a scrubbing brush, Swarfega with the lumps in, and non acetone nail varnish remover - nothing works !
Interesting meeting at work this morning with white arms, and black hands !
Just new pads fron and rear, then it should be ready for Silverstone!

Alan,

If the Sikaflex is still quite fresh then try vinegar - we use it if we're working on the boat and it gets on our skin. Also (hindsight, sorry) rub a little washing up liquid into your skin beforehand.

But it gets everywhere - it's not nicknamed "sticky s**t" for nothing!

I'm sorted for a screen, but now £170 lighter

I think Combe was a grid of 44/45. However that was combined DMN and tin-tops as is Silverstone. Not sure what the record is for DMN on its own.

Probably Combe or Brands GP last year - both of those were 44 with DMN alone, weren't they?
