Not massive, no, but surprising considering they can use the FG-X until 2020. And surprising because I dont see any other marques beating the door down to join the party.

saw this yesterday and seems relevant

Passenger cars not a priority for Blue Oval brand in Australia

The doubt over the Australian future of the Ford Fiesta continues following a declaration from the Blue Oval’s regional boss that sales success here is now based on pick-ups, SUVs and performance cars.

Why is the Supercars website pedaling a speculative story like this?

Maybe another attempt to draw attention to Fords lack of involvement and maybe try and embarrass them into staying?

If i was to google kia and supercars, the wording seems to be they are interested and have had discusions with teams.

However i read an article (its mosty likely linked in the next gen thread) to suggest they would be intetrested, but not in stumping up big dolllars to support/sponsor

I reallly think the series will stuggle to survive in its current format without a "ford". would take a massive downsizing

so for a team that run 5 Ford Mustang cars it sounds like there may not be any new ford on the grid in 2019
Over the course of the season, crew chief Greg Erwin and the No. 22 Ford Mustang team prepared race-winning cars for five different drivers. While that might sound simple, matching driving styles and setup preferences successfully with multiple drivers was no easy process.

The thing that doesnít really work in Mr Penskeís discussion is swapping brands needs a commitment NOW not in 6 months.

He is quoted elsewhere in saying Mustang needed sign off NOW or it cant happen

Same applies for another brand, surely.

Unless Penske is talking to Holden....

I dont know how many pages you went in, but i get these as my top 3 (all dated after that article)

https://www.motoring.com.au/no-facto...percar-107663/

https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-new...cars-mix-54245

https://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/...0170504-gvyhc9

All suggest an interest. the top one being the article i referred to earlier.

Not so fast...

Bathurst is said to be the debut of the MARC Ver.2.0. We don't yet know what this entails...
