What a load of rubbish, the prototype had had exactly the same radator, or be it 75m less width. Made in Australia by Adrad

Engine gearbox alignment issue, wrong

Oil coolers could have a gurney, but not excessive heat in both gearbox and diff.

Dry sump in engine compartment, exactly as Supercar

Difference between prototype and production car is the floor plan. Prototype has a genuine holden and production is flat floor, to enable more leg room

Sounds like someone's been telling you porkies.

Ugy has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Bit of luck and they might be ready for 2013. Probably why they needed a big break between the first and second round so they can try and get things sorted.
Not really keeping the momento going

You think Ugy?? by 2013 you reckon. Any new class of racing will have a significant break between R1 and R2 for this exact reason, so they can sort out any issues that have arisen. Not really rocket science now is it?

And what do you mean by not keeping the momento (think you mean momentum but hey ) going?? i dont get that comment at all. They have got momentum because they have 7 rounds booked up that will take them through to October, and there is usually a snippet of news once or twice a week if you care to look for it. How does that compare to the 'momento' of the New Gen NZV8 there Ugy???

I agree with MacrosNZ when he say that you are being told porkies.

As MacroNZ said the ST radiator is and Australian Adrad and is identical to the radiator used by SBR's, both in fin count and core width, nothing Chinese about this little baby.

The Quaiffe gearboxes that are fitted to the ST's, have been fitted with plastic shielded roller bearings, which has a temperature rating of 120c.

To date no teams as far as I know, have had any heat or heat wear problems.
However one team did have a mechanical failure, which did cause the plastic bearing shield to melt.

So I think we should all be looking forward to some great racing from Ruapuna.

Went out and caught Alex testing the KMS car today, top bloke, said he was looking forward to the new car and new track, he couldn't remember the last time he drove a new track like he did today.

Not sure what sort of lap times he put in, his first couple runs that I was there for were all about acclimatising to the car.

When Greg Murphy first came to NZ to test the prototype he was wearing a Pepsi Max suit etc. I imagine the drivers are able to keep their old suits as a momento of the time they had with a particular team.

Intersting to note the inclusion of the new bonnet vents and i presume that the rear wing on those shots is in its new position? I read something about the rear wing being pushed rearward a wee bit more.

Not long to go now, we have Supercars this weekend, followed by SuperTourers the next

Forgot to ask the guys about the rear wing, but I assume it is in the new position, hence why the Gulf logo looks to be tilted backwards a little bit.

that rear wing does look flatter doesn't it, looks like its setup for a low drag situation

Murph is still sponsored by Pepsi though, Alex isn't sponsored by Irwin. Surely he'd have other race suits that didn't have such endorsements, unless he wants to endorse them

With that in mind i'd say it just comes down to whatever suits are in their wardrobes. And i'm sure that their old sponsors wont mind a free bit of advertising.

Thats an intersting point you make Axeman with regards to GM, i.e is he sponsored by Pepsi Max just for Supercars or does that cover any other racing he may do? (other than supertourers).

Guess you gotta grab whatever sponsorship is around in these tight times.

Its the same with Kayne Scott and the Peak oils entry.

There are many examples of competitors being sponsored by rivals to the series sponsor.
It appeared unusual for Davison to be using a suit with a rival sponsor to the car he was sitting in, is what I was getting at.

They moved the wing back and up so they could lower the angle of attack on it, but still get the downforce.

Has anyone heard anything about support classes at Ruapuna?

GM hopes to recovered enough to defend his lead at Ruapuna.
