CAMS STATEMENT

Stewards penalties imposed at the V8 Supercar Championship Series
Round Nine, Queensland Raceway, 13-15 September 2002

Friday 13 September - Matters held over from Round 8, Winton Motor Raceway:

Dick Johnson was found to be in breach of Rule:
* B6.5.11, failing to obey the proper directions or instructions of an official appointed to the Meeting, for which he was fined $1,000
* D13.3, entering Parc Ferme, for which he was fined $1,000
* B6.5.14, intimidating another person, for which he was reprimanded.

Friday 13 September

The following drivers were found to be in breach of Rule B6.7.15, exceeding the pit lane speed limit:
* Paul Morris, car #29, fined $300
* Phillip Scifleet, car #161, fined $300
* Andrew Miedecke, car #76, fined $300

Saturday 14 September

The following drivers were found to be in breach of Rule B6.7.15, exceeding the pit lane speed limit:
* Paul Morris, car #29, fined $200
* Christian D'Agostin, car #14, fined $300

Sunday 15 September

The following cars received drive through penalties during the warm up:
Car #76 (Quinn/Miedecke), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit.
Car #43 (Porter /Full), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit.
Car #888 (Cleland/Leahy), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit.

The following cars received drive through penalties during the race:
* Car #43 (Porter/Full), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit
* Car #021 (Jason Richards/McIntyre), for short cutting the track
* Car #14 (Beattie/D'Agostin), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit
* Car #021 (Jason Richards/McIntyre), for the loss of a wheel.
* Car #21 (Brad Jones/Bowe), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit
* Car #15 (Priaulx/Muller), for a driving infringement
* Car #161 (Crick/Scifleet), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit
* Car #35 (Crick/Scifleet), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit
* Car #02 (Rick Kelly/Pretty), for exceeding the pit lane speed limit
* Car #29 (Morris/Wakefield), for short cutting the track
* Car #31 (Ellery/Youlden), was incorrectly positioned at the restart, after a safety car period
* Car #29 (Morris/Wakefield), for crossing the solid yellow line at pit exit
* Car #21 (Brad Jones/Bowe), for a driving infringement

Car #51 (Kelly/Murphy) had 30 seconds penalty added to its race time for short cutting the track.

What I find very interesting about this is the Dick Johnson penalties - from Winton from what I can gather. Anyone have any further info on it???

Is Murphys 30 seconds already been added to his time yet? and you would of thought after the Stegbar 400 and the yellow line people would of learnt there lession with the line

Yep the time has been adjusted - didn't really affect him as he was already the last of the cars on the lead lap.

Yellow line - hard call - especially if you look where the solid lines usually end - if a car comes out of pit lane he wants to get on line ASAP - the problem is with an empty track, even cutting 2 cm off the line is an offence punishable by death these days.

But in fairness to QR, you'd have to be pretty rude to cut right across onto racing line. Then again, watching the video, Brad in the safety car was the worst offender! Does he get a drive through as well??

But isn't cutting people off what racing is all about?
