Helmet Spotting

Could someone tell me who's driving the Caddy LMP-02 in my photo? It's Taylor, Angelelli or Tinseau but i don't recognise the helmet design.

Cheers,

Gav

Exactly what I thought Badger. Very similar design to Biela's.

Is there a specific Caddy racing site? I remember checking their general site near the end of the 2002 season and being surprised that there was no mention of the LMP program - sort of summed up the whole effort.

Thanks again,

Gav

Great idea Karl ...... you should patent that quick . Let me know if you ever print it cuz I will have two copies please .

However ..... Didier Cottaz debut at LeMans was 1996 in a Courage C36 with Alliot-Policand . The car didnt finish as the throttle stuck open going into Tetre Rouge with Alliot driving and cleared the gravel trap , straight into the type wall with an almighty bang !!! Alliot jumped out of the car and ran around it like a headless chicken twice , stopped and walked away as cool as a breeze , almost like nothing had happened !!! I witnessed that right in front of me , thats why I cant forget that car and year . Dont mean to be picky . Funny enough he didnt race again at LeMans until last year in the Courage C65 .

Great site man

What a great labour of love, and very inspirational to put H. Pescarolo in at the end. I will bookmark your site, thank you.

Maybe we should do a similar site with Ayse and Fab and tee shirts... No don't worry, I'll get my coat and be off!

Really like the helmets site though, Karl Kling.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

There is a word version at the top of the page so that you can print it for trackside use. And i could print some copies and bring to a TT-meeting at Le Mans as well.

I've just had a brief look too. Exellent stuff sir!!

Helmet identification is one of the toughest arts to master!!

Used to be terrible when everyone had a white band around the top third of their helmets to make room for a certain well known cigarette brands identification!

I remember once sitting next to my dad in a temporary grandstand at Redgate at Donington Park watching the F3000 cars come out of pit lane towards us. The guy next to me saw the two works Ralt Honda's in distance and he asked me to tell him who was who because he didn't know.
I said: 'I do'

He said: 'How, their miles away!'

I said: ' i can tell by their helmets. Moreno is in front of Gugelmin.'

When they arrived he looked at numbers and said
'Bloody hell, you're right!'

I was quite young and bit embarrassed about it!!

Glad to hear Moreno is in front

On the subject his yellow helmet with blue spikes has always been a favourite of mine.

good site - appreciate the time taken!!!

don't all jump down my throat but Robbie Stirling won C2 in 1990 and drove the #16 Repsol Brun 962 in 1991. Pescatori made his sarthe debut in 1997 in BMS 911 GT1 (best private qualifier)

I must admit I tend to use the list des engages from the ACO for my helmet ID's. Although it gets a bit troublesome at times because the pics are in B&W, they do print the helmet colours in writing.

Thanks for the corrections, much appreciated! It's not easy to keep track of everyone so any help is most welcome!

BTW, this List des Engages, is that something you get when you as an ACO member?
