Comparing the Le Mans Series calendars with the significant European F3 series, the LMS races clash with the British F3 races at the Nurburgring and Donington; there are three clashes between Euroseries and LMS races, however, two of these races take place at the same meetings as LMS rounds; the European F3 Open clashes with the Spa LMS race and there are no clashes between the LMS and Italian F3. As such, it would appear tricky to do a full F3 season and the Le Mans Series.

As kipper alluded to, he's racing an LMP2 Radical for Team LNT in the Le Mans Series this year.

Does anyone know what the testing schedule looks like over the next couple of months? Is there an exclusive F3 test at Snetterton?

March 1/2 - Rockingham
March 8 - Silverstone GP [Media Day]
March 9 - Silverstone GP
March 22 - Oulton Park
April 5/6 - Snetterton 300

There are further tests to be scheduled, but I don't know when.

Teams are starting to use their 5 private test days now. Carlin were at Pembrey yesterday, for instance.

Karun Chandhok did a full day of testing with Double R at Pembrey this week to keep his hand in a bit before he tests for Lotus. He was waxing lyrical about the current generation of Dallara compared to the one he drove in 2004 for T-Sport.

Story here. Double R have 4 cars because they bought Manor's remaining one.

Good news. I was beginning to worry slightly about Hitech, but they really need more than one driver to make the the thing manageable.

Double R are announcing the identity of their second driver on March 3rd and it's one worth having.

Otherwise that looks about it, which is a touch disappointing.

Anything from Tech-West?

Looks a bit weak to me.

Is there no British Formula Ford graduate or have I missed something?

He's trying to break some kind of record, isn't he? Seven years now since he started racing in F3. Get a career, man!

To do the International Trophy, you have to do a National F3 championship, so that's a lot of money with all this travel! He can easily do AutoGP, WSbR or SF... and if he wins, which isn't very likely against Signature, what he gains? He has BF3 title and that got him as far as BMW Sauber tester...
Or may be the team gave him an exceptional offer?

I guess F3 is a step up the Austrian Formula Renault series that Asmer last appeared in. Whilst it is true that Asmer would probably gain most from racing at a higher level, one of his main sticking points has been a lack of finance. Therefore the International F3 Trophy might represent the best that Asmer can afford particularly if Double R have offered him a good deal.
