OK, another fantastic teasing here! If she's been campaigned in the UK a long while ago, may be bauble has pics of it!

It has occurred to me that Bob might have a picture in his catalogue but it would depend on some rather specific date and time activity iirc. Also ... FWIW I do have a photos of the Cosy somewhere. I think it was during the initial shakedown process when it was entered in an Formula 3 race of some sort that had more modern kit on the track than HSCC currently supports. Suffice it to say that the speed differentials were significant especially as, to a casual observer, it did not look like the Cosy was producing anything like the expected power. And of course the whole look of the device is far from convincing, structurally, in these H&S centric times. I mean the man with the red flag walking in front of it looked very exposed. As I spectated the word "brave" passed through my mind. Quickly followed by "barking mad", given the mix of entries in the race. |

Ben away over the weekend enjoying a jolly, so I must hasten to catch up. I will delve further into the past over the next few days, but meanwhile to ensure we don't lose interest a few left over from previous sets.

A long time ago, when I briefly worked for ELF, I lived in the south west of the UK and rented a small cottage for a few months.
The cottage was owned by an army officer, one of the sons of a chap who lived in a large house on the edge of the village and who had at one time had a senior position with Shell - or so it seemed. Across the road, but on the Shell man's personal land, was a quite substantial house that was rented to a young local garage owner who specialised in TR6's. So every morning, as I was about to set off on my daily work round, I heard his 6 heading off as he set out for his workshop. The young garagiste also looked after the property owner's V12 Jag. Some synergy in the relationship I think. I have always like TR6's since those days, although not enough to feel a need desperate to own one at any cost. Moons ago, young pupils at Ecole de Pilotage AGACI, had the choice of the car before very session. The most successful were R8 Gordinis of course while some others were under rated like Opel GT and TR6. The Opel was said Corvette for the poor and the Triumph for hairdressers (already discussed here) but I appreciated the power and handling. Unfortunately, the brakes had a tendency to vanish after few laps…

Agreed! Not many cars went through the years with few elegant modifications of their bodies, TR4/5 to 6 and may be the 928 and 924. Now we say facelift or Gesichtsstraffung…

Been away for 10 days and missed alot of interesting topics and great pictures, have to take issue about the Cosy 500 though. I thought it was a COUSY 500, and Mikes car is causing some interest, never certain if it was called a Spider MTR or an MTR Spider.

Merci pour les Triumph, Ami Robert! We have a nice Le Mans Spit' replica here built by a good mate. Unfortunately he warned me that it will be impossible for a great sausage to drive it, the fuel tank doesn't let enough room.
