That lost footage

I'm pretty new to the forums but I've been reading them for a little while. Anyway I'm a bit interested in the whole 1995 ATCC footage being lost or thrown out. I've been going through my VHS collection and turning them into DVD's and along the way uploaded some stuff to youtube. Particular intrest was shown in the few rounds I have from the 1995 championship and people told me how you get the season highlights. They are correct as I emailed and checked with chevron. I was wondering if anyone else has footage from the championshp and whether it is worth trying to put all the footage together in some form for everyone to see? I have full telecasts for the rounds of Mallala, Barbagello and Oran Park. I had some more but they were either lost or thrown out due to damage.

It's not really that significant to me, but it's the only season since the new formula that isn't available in a highlight package and many people have shown intrest in the footage that I have and are wanting to see the rest of the season.

Maybe this is the capitalist in me but instead of putting it on YT for nothing, why not try and cut a deal with Chevron and get some coin for yourself. You have the vision and they don't - and there's probably a fair chance that the TV broadcaster (Channel 7, if my memory serves me correctly) doesn't have it either.
If the interest is there then it could work as a commercial thing for Chevron.

I think you would run up against a whole host of legal 'rights' issues and could get yourself into some hot water.....

are you saying that all footage from 1995 is missing in the channel 7 archives ???

I have a fair bit of it from 95 but am not willing to part with it or even know if its still watchable (VHS tape in LP hasnt been watched in 14 years and was taped on 3 or 4 year old tape at the time)...

Thats the popular story around, but footage from the 1995 season has appeared on some of the V8TV broadcasts in he last 2.5 years, so 7 obviously still have footage from that year.

Supposedly backing the story up is the fact no season review was produced... yet there are plenty of gaps since the first season review was done in 1986. There was no 1988 or 1989 review, and the 1991 & 1992 reviews were only sold in Europe, not Australia!

I just heard the whole story about the missing footage after I put a few rounds on youtube. So I thought about trying to put all the footage together is some way, shape or form e.g youtube. Not commercially releasing it or anything.

What rounds are you looking for, how many rounds did they have back then

I remember asking about the 1995 footage before on here and was told a season review wasn't produced for that year and that likely due to commercial reasons it wouldn't make sense to make/edit a season review now.

However if Channel 7 has footage of all the races there should be nothing to Chevron dumping all of it to DVD if they wanted.

I enjoyed all the previous DVD's from Chevron as it allowed me to see race highlights for the first time. In the 1990's the only way to follow V8's was a very expensive(for a college student) airmail MRA subscription, a few snippets in Autosport or On Track magazine and the internet starting in 1995/1996.

I didn't know they did season reviews until I saw the 1990 & 1993 season review DVD at Bathurst musuem. I then bought the 1991 & 1992 videos from Duke UK. If there's an ATCC '87 video, i HAVE to have it!!!

David, there was a '87 ATCC review video although I have not seen a copy since 1988.

There is also a '86 ATCC review which I could help with.

My car made its debut at the 1986 Sandown 500 and i'm now more or less decided to restore it to its 1987 ATCC specification and livery, so I'd love to see the '87 ATCC video if somebody can tell me where to get it...............
