dcr44S should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Trade in your 888 Hat for $10 (merged x2)

Gotta love P2 of this week's eNews.

BE TRUE BLUE!

Trade in your 888 cap at the Ford Superstore at Queensland Raceway this weekend and receive a Ford, SBR or FPR for only $10!

It's getting silly now!

$10 Hats (merged x1)

I see Fordhave taken things to heart.

For $10 this weekend at QLD Raceway, you can get a Ford, SBR, or FPR hat when you trade in your 888 hat.

Pearler!!! Wonder what the exchange rate (number of trade-ins) will be like??

For those of you asking, it is on the inside cover of ENews this week. I nearly choked on my Weetbix and slid off the couch, I was laughing so hard.

A brilliant piece of ambush marketing by the Blue side.

I'm waiting for when 888 announce trading in any 888 merchandise carrying a Ford logo for new 888 merchandise carrying the Holden logo.

Ford may have got the first laugh, but Roland has the potential to get the bigger laugh!!

If I were Roland, I'd be paying Ford fans a $1 to trade in their Ford hats.

That would account for about two thousand fans and $2000.

Cheap and effective counter-marketing!

It would be very interesting to find out the numbers to gauge how big this 'protest' really is...?

Why? he's only copying Ford, the brilliance of the original move is gone. Not to mention there would be 3/10's of **** all sales in 888 Ford>888 Holden trade ins.

I guess there would be a few Ford fans laughing at Dane if he did this though, so you may be right JDI

By the same token, what if Whincup was far enough in points and say only needed a few to claim the Championship, it would be a master stroke if Dane was able to get him into a Commodore and win the championsip. headlines,

"Jamie wins Championship in Commodore"

Roland would definately have the last laugh.

Sour grapes and pettiness. Just like the email that got "leaked". it was full of childish pettiness. Imagine if at Homebush it's Whincup and a Holden driver neck and neck for the Championship and they come up to pass an FPR or SBR driver..... I wonder if said driver will "accidentally" block Whincup and let the Holden driver catch or pass him? Not that this sort of thing would happen would it....?

What a perfect counter to the replacement of the Ford badges with pigs - excellent!!

Why does the saying "what goes around, comes around" come to mind?

888's sponsors will not be impressed to see fans giving up merchandise with their logos on it.

I wonder if Ford will make a pig shaped art piece out of the caps they collect? Waste not, want not!

Come on Ford fans, give 'til it hurts!

888 sponsors will be laughing as they will not only retain a large proportion of Lowndes and Whincup fans, but also gain Holden supporters into their ranks. If anything, there will be even more 888 gear trackside in 2010!

So that's $7 for the new Ford cap, and a $3 Ford Service "environmental disposal charge" to get rid of the toxic 888 cap.

That would be very fool-hardy as then you are attacking a sponsor.

Hog's Breath have always been Holden sponsors for as long as I can remember them sponsoring, but in doing so they miss 50% of the marketing effect.

They may wake up in the future and want to sponsor a Ford team and "having the Pig stuck" by Ford HQ is not a nice, nor a wise, solution moving forward.
