Ralf Wants £13 million from Williams

According to Telegraph Ralf Schumacher wants around £13 million or $24 million from Williams.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mai...17/ixmoto.html

So, we will see two new driver in Williams next season?

And in return, Williams wants from Ralf the WCC, the WDC if he can mangage it and a string of poles and FLs.

About as likely...

I reckon Williams have about half that in mind as a figure.

No one in their right might would give Ralf so much money for so little return. Frank could probably buy either Jenson or Mark out, and team them with Pizzonia, Nico or Nelsinho, for $10m tops, and spend the rest on improving the cars. Makes much more sense.

Not a chance of Ralf getting that sort of money from Williams!

They can easily replace Ralf - either Webber or Button can be bought out of their contract and Fisi will be available with no buy out fee (he's only on a one year contract with Sauber - I think?).

Ralf is a good driver but he's not good enough to get away with asking for that amount of cash given the amount of other drivers who are equally good if not better and will jump at the chance of a Williams drive.

I think that Fisichella is on an 2 year deal wih Sauber, but Peter Sauber already made it clear that he wouldn't stand in Giancarlo's way if a topteam offered him a drive so things are looking good for Fisico!

Wish the Lord things could go like you say ASCII; surely Ralf has no chance of getting paid that much, privided such a rumour is reliable.

You could get Fisichella to drive for £500 000 if he's really serious about wanting a chance at a top team.

I don't understand why he need all that money...
I would drive for food!

Now it looks like we will have 2 new drivers at Williams next year.

I think it'll be Webber and Button.

Maybe Michael will retire at the end of the season on the proviso Ralf gets the Ferrari.....

But Button has just been proclaiming his love for BAR and claiming that he hasn't been talking to Williams!

More to the point while Frank might bite the bullet and buy one driver out of his contract can you see him doing it twice? Especially when he has a driver that he rates already on the books?

Do not forget that BMW wants him there. They love the guy and that is a fact. Weber plays hardball with Frank and at the end he will win. Maybe he will go a little bit lower, but I am sure that in 2006 Ralf will be the second highest paid driver after his brother. Assuming that Michael does not retire :-).

Cheers,

I don't think Frank would be scared to offload Ralf, even if Theissen did get a little bit mad.

Ralf's demends are absurd; i doubt Frank will pay. Put Heidfeld in the seat if BMW are so hot to have a german Driver. He'd be cheaper, easier to get along with and just as fast-gratitude alone would make him perform well.

Fissi better be buttering them up really well now. This could be his big chance.

A certain French Canadian comes to mind. He too made high demands...

I don't think BMW loves/wants him that much. Business is business and like it or not, drivers are payed based in his talents and performances, and what Ralf wants isn't exactly a reflection of his achievements.

Maybe Ralf should take a leaf out of the Personal injury lawyers handbook eg no win no fee. Say £1m per win, I am sure that this would gee him up no end. LOL
