VSCC Mallory Park and Prescott 2005

Just to remind you all, this Sunday is the VSCC annual bash at Mallory Park, the only event in Britain with a full grid of Edwardian cars of 10 litres or more!

Also, the VSCC Prescott meet is on August 6th & 7th, our premier event, not to be missed if you have nothing planned, go for it!

We'll be there, wouldn't miss either event for the world.

The photo shows the leading group lapping John Brydon in the 1904 CGV, Duncan Pittaway in the Curtiss aero engined Monarch leading the 1914 Indianapolis Sunbeam driven by Richard Scaldwell and the 1908 Grand Prix Panhard-Levassor of Mark Walker.

The Sunbeam went on to win!

All but the Monarch are genuine pre Great War racing cars.

By the end of the last race I was beyond wet - I think my hair is still damp!

Who was the chap with the racing BBQ? Did Peugeot invent the roll cage? He should've waited so we could test the clothes dryer at the end of the meeting.

I assume you mean the "up and over" exhaust. I thought it was the Mk I of Professor Pat Pending's Convert-a-Car...

We were looking forward to seeing the oversteer in action, but sadly the thrust reverser locked on and the Lion was forced to return to its cage.

This picture doesn't show the smoke rings that were being produced on Sunday in practice!

Thanks to all of the Marshals who had a very long and very wet day for making the meeting happen.

Imp's trousers had dried out for this weekend much to the disgust of the Rescue Unit

A good weekend was had by all though, another spectacular event by the VSCC.
