Excellent race.

Not sure DRS made one jot of difference to it.

Seb being very measured and politically correct about Max after the race.

Wasn't Max's fault. The car suddenly gave him lots of power which caused him to drive forward into the car in front of him.

Turned on the radio to find the Honey Badger in the lead and winning. Will have to watch the highlights, seemed like a great race. Danny's win means the title is still open, as Vettel winning the first three races would traditionally mean the title goes to him

Ferrari need to do something that the car's color does not immediately transform into red mist in Verstappen's eyes. This is getting repetitive. Or maybe Red Bull simply ask the man who can actually safely but very strongly overtakr in their team to give lessons to the wannabe overtaker.

I would rather have had Max win but he just blew it everytime he went for a pass and all of Ricciardo's passes he got away with.

It's easy to beat up on Max but the move Dani did for the lead was out of control and could easily have been a bigger wreck than anything Max did, so I just think Max was really unlucky. The move with Seb, sure it was Max's fault but that was such light contact, how unfortunate that they both spun around.

Ferrari again didn't really have the pace of Merc did they? Bottas gets the lead and I think he would have easily pulled away in the last stint - Vettel was a couple of seconds off the pace of the Mercs at the end, heck he did 1m40 one of those laps while Ricciardo did a 1m35 on the same lap. The tyres shouldn't have been that ruined from his burnout, but certainly he wasn't going to stay with Bottas. Hamilton was closing on them, he'd halved the gap before the pit stops, 13s down to about 7s I think. Just like he did in Bahrain. So sadly I think it's just a matter of time before Lewis sorts his car out and is regularly 0.3-0.5s lap faster than Bottas again, and that'll see him dominating again like last year.

Alonso: good on him for passing Seb but is there any point having the "forcing another car off the road" rule if you're never going to enforce it? Seb was clearly 100% alongside Alonso and still had the inside line. Someone (Brundle maybe?) commented that Alonso had the racing line, well no he doesn't if there's another car alongside you!!! Alonso just turned in and left Seb nowhere to go but off the track or make contact. Don't know why he felt the need to be so aggressive with how slow Seb was.

Interesting fact: Daniel Ricciardo has never won from a top 3 spot on the grid.

and Max was too impatient, just threw away the win, he had enough time to try later with the tire advantage he had.

He believed Max...until it turns out that was an excuse, and then he went with the facts Max messed up.

I'm quite the Max fan, but that's 3 screw ups in 3 races in 2018. He needs to get it together. Red Bull aren't the kind of team that are big on second chances.

Great win by Riccardo and especially well timed after the disappointment of Bahrain

A well timed push of the SC button there Charlie, well done.

You turned what was to be a bore fest to a great race by waiting almost 2 laps, AND until Vettel and Bottas had past the pit entry to push the SC button. Strategy not just in the pit garages, but up in the control room too. Nice one Charlie! Thanks.

If you do ever get the chance to visit an F1 paddock, see if you can get someone to get you into race control for a quick look around. You might find it interesting just how much data they have to process and how some of that information arrives.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll see if Charlie can get me into race control for a quick look around.

Cheers.

Just seen footage of the post race podium room, and the press conference. Oh how dead are Bottas and Raikkonen??! Didn't speak one word to each other, and the sad/droopy faces during the press conference!! Wow! These guys must be the life of the party. NOT!

What the press conference looked like:

= Raikkonen
= Bottas
= Ricciardo

Ok be silly.

But if you knew someone who knows someone who works for a team, maybe you could get a look on a set up day. It’s not impossible.

It's ironic that a haas incident in Melbourne helped Ferrari get the win. And a Toro Ross incident in China helped Red Bull get the win.

Of course I think they are pure coincidences, just ironic considering the teams involved.

I'm satisfied that Riccy got the win.

Verstappen having a nightmare season. 3 or 4 bad mistakes of his own making in 3 races. Should have won this race. Ricciardo did the buisness.

Now Mercedes can ask Force India or Williams to help

Hilarious, the sour faces may have something to do with who will be where in 2019, both on the chopping block in favour of Danny.

I can't see a good reason to have Danny at Merc or Ferrari alongside Lewis or Vettel.

Teammate competitiveness on track is very bad for the team. Merc, Force India, Haas, Toro Rosso, Mclaren, Red Bull all have history and driver pairings that attest to this. I think it's good to have a clear #1 and a clear #2 driver. Ideally differentiated by ability. Raikkonen is a good #2 driver as he edges closer to retirement. So is Bottas.

Hamilton and Vettel are the drivers expected to lead the team to championships.
