David Sutherland
Another long shot but does anyone remember David Sutherland around the mid 70's/80's I know he was driving a 240Z with John Rich probably in a Modsports series and or hillclimbs. Any memories/pics or contact would be useful. Cheers ben

He was quick in Sports 2000 in the 1980s, and had some success in the S2000 class of Thundersports races - I think in around 1983-85?

OTOH you're both correct, I think he did S2000 with a Richard Dutton Royale in 1982-83 ish. He then had a few races in a Group C 956 with the Kremer team. He was part of the "Sutherlands Spreads" family.

Also had a crack in Group A with BMW's on a couple of ocassions in 1984 with Frank Sytner's team I guess because they had links back in S2000?
David might possibly have been considering switching to BTCC or ETC at the time before plumping for Group C and stuff. |

Thanks for the replies so far, I assume that talking about him in the past tense is just a figure of speech and not an indication that he is not around anymore. The reason for asking is that I am trying to complete the history of my car and have been told that he was driving it with John Rich during the late 70's or early 80's. cheers ben

Have you tried to contact him thru Sutherlands Spreads? (google will give you the contact details)
I think the company was sold by the family a few years ago but he may still be involved. |
