Let's be realistic here.

When we see a greater demographic shift in the ruleset, and the fanbase, then maybe more non V8-centric manufacturers will get involved.

I wonder if SC have pitched the TCR ruleset, which they apparently bought the rights to in this market, to the manufacturers yet? But in all honesty, if they did ever go down that path, it'll be 5 years too late.

Not celebrating, more speechless that because ssMedia released a render, everyone lost their **** about Kia joining. 1+1 does not = 57

Everyone should have seen straight through it, while those that didn't should have learnt from when the same thing happened with the Mustang render that led nowhere.

Instead everyone thought it was fact that because 2 teams sent a proposal to Kia (that we are now told were immediately rejected) that it was gospel that they were in deep discussions about joining, and must have been doubly true due to said render.

Nice publicity for Mr Yorsten though The cynical might suggest Mr Warburton's team may have commissioned the renders

It's a shame in the end, seemed like it made a lot of sense.

At this point I just can't see any new manufacturers entering in 2018. Motorsport in general is more and more beholden to the green tide. Gen 2 was a nice idea, but it's not so much the cars road relevance or eco cred that is the issue - the very idea of racing cars seems offensive to some modern manufacturers

Kia aren't coming so TCR etc comes up and to be honest, is quite relevant.

Newcastle is happening so the GT3 bomb GTR threw was way off the mark. But hey, maybe it won't happen so he can derail away

Wow they really are keeping the presses spinning with that one.

I know it is unlikely but I'd love to see BJR or GRM turn up with that Kia - it looks kick ass.

Bjr with Kia would be cool but from how these articles are written it seems to be walkinshaws way they will head if they enter the series hypothetically. Then again this may all be publicity garnering from Kia by keeping the media spinning but it's weird that they'd drop s hint like this after that interview with speedcafe didn't Nissan do something similar to that interview before they entered?
