Dodge Viper SRT-10 Competition Coupe, where does it race?
Today at the Race&Rally motorsportshow in Maastricht, the Netherlands I saw a version of the Dodge Viper SRT-10 Competition Coupe. Beautiful car in full race specification, my question is: Does anyone know where these cars have raced in 2003 or are going to race in 2004?
The car I saw, from USCarworldracing.nl, will race in the Dutch Supercarchallenge or Belcar. |

You can buy the Competition Coupe directly from Dodge Motorsport. It's race-ready when you buy it, something like the european Renault Clio's.......just a little bit more expensive

There were several that showed up to Speed WC races this year. At Road America there was a whole gaggle of them.

One of my friends works on the Competition Coupe for PVO, and travels to all the Speedvision WC events and some of the Viper Club races as engineering support... it is a great job, I'm sooooo jealous!

To what car can we compare this car on the track if you look at laptimes? As fast as a 996 GT3-RS?

The competition coupe seems to be competitive with the GT3 Carrera Cup car.

They are probably pretty quick down the straights as they make probably 525 to 550 hp but they lack the total downforce to be realy fast like a true GT racer. Comparing Laps to an ALMS Car at road Atlanta over the summer the Speed GT cars were about 8 seconds slower than the 'average' in ALMS GT class. That's just off the top of my head though I could be wrong. This is still very fast however.

You must also remember that the cars in Speed GT don't run a full race tire.
