Badgeman62, and all,
I sure you meant to thank the marshals, as well as the MGCC.

It was a glorious day for us racers- I hope you didn't get too fried in the sun. I've come back distinctly pink, despite level 45 sunblock!

On behalf of the MG car Club, I/we thank the magnificient army in Orange for a very successful race day. As is always the case at any race meeting, it is the Marshals that make a Race Day happen, and Saturday was no exception. The support given to our Club was tremendous, your expertise enabled you all to deal with everything in a most professional manner.

In fact the speed that you carried out your various duties enabled my morning prediction of a 5.30pm finish to be pretty accurate, as the official time for the end of the last race was 17.35hrs.

So once again our grateful thanks to you all, including the Competitors, for an excellent day.

ps. Kaybee, why not make the scale model the first of your British collection?

Weel if JW can post the same thing on two fora (is that the plural or forum?) then so can I

Well John, you keep providing the tea and cake and beer to finish with, and we'll keep turning up! but pleeeeeeease make it Ol' Speckled Hen and not John Smiths (or was that the staff's fault?)

btw, some good racing too helps, so good on the MGCC!!

Another excellent day's racing!

I must admit I was a little bit concerned in pratice when I saw the size of some of the grids,& the first two races were nothing to write home about, but after that.....

The sight & sound of those three MGBGTV8s going at it like there was no tomorrow is just about as good as it gets!

Matthew Gilmore's overtaking move to take third place from Mark Chadwick in the FF race was worth the price of entry (if we'd paid to get in!)

This meeting proved yet again that you don't necessarily need huge grids to get good racing - & after the meeting I did on the preceding Monday it was good to marshal at a well-organised meeting!

Just one little comment, though, not really a complaint.......we had a quiet day at Cascades, then we get our only real incident in the last race!

Look on the bright side Dave. At Lodge we had nothing all day, until one car decided to run out of petrol on the cooling down lap of the very last the race!!!!!!!!

Yes, thanks again to all the orange crew. I had a great day once again. I was in that last race but managed not to join the folks at the bottom of cascades. Just. That grass over on the right after cascades is very bumpy! I'll not be trying that "alternative" line again if I can help it

glad you enjoyed your trip to oulton.those bumps are long lost marshals who have fallen down rabbit/badger holes, and are tunneling their way back to the surface.
can you persuade the club to do a two dayer next year.

a 2 dayer for me makes better sense due to the distance for me, even if I have to stay in Macclesfield, whose only saving grace is a decent tapas bar, (as well as mine host) but could the club get enough entries to do it? (Would be better than James May in a TVR, even if Jackie Stewart is in the passenger seat!!)

I was watching your agricultural moment from the fire truck stationed at the fosters box. You actually managed to get all four wheels off the ground! Bet it wasn't too pleasant a ride!!!

Oddly enough I wasn't shaken about too much. Four point harness does wonders for keeping you in your seat. Didn't realise I'd managed to completely clear the ground though. Guess I discovered the limit of how fast I can turn into *that* particular corner!

You wher lucky it was dry as it meant that you continued on your merry way past Lakeside. Had it been the previous weekend, then it would have been a different matter. You'd still be washing the mud out of your wheel arches!!!

Badgeman, we already have another 'beer tasting' weekend planned for June 23/24 at Silverstone. We will even throw in a free BBQ to feed you as well! All you have to do to get an invite, is volunteer to Marshal at least the Saturday, but hopefully the Sunday as well, and I will send your invitation. You will find more info about the meeting on our web site www.mgcc.co.uk Click on motorsport, then marshals to get the availability form and volunteer on line.

Clive - re the Beer - It was a staff problem, you send the Chief Executive to do the shopping, and you saw the result !!!

You think it's bad in a Spitfire, just try a Formula BMW or 10
