Brede or Owen ?
I read somewhere recently that Dale Brede and Steve Owen were auditioning for the drive in the CAT Ford for either the rest of this year or next year , so after QLD 500 and Bathurst who do you think should get the drive for the rest of the year ????
I think Brede is a pretty good steerer and Steve Owen has always been impressive so its a hard decision , but really when I sit back and look at the whole Briggs operation I personally think Briggs should give the seat to Canto , he did an awesome job at Bathurst and deserves a full time ride in a good car (Ok well the CAT car ) what do you think ?? |

If I were to choose one of the two, it would be Dale Brede. His PR guy, is the guy I do work exp for OzEmail with, and I got to meet Dale at the Winton round, and he was a really nice guy, and I think in a good car he could be a challenge and he has a lot of talent in racing, so I'd like to see him in the main catergory and see what he can do. But hes a great racer and a really nice guy to talk to!

I love that CAT money to HRT rumour - especially when it involves Ingall.

Out of those two, I'd go with Owen. I like Brede, but I've seen more of Owen. And he was great in single seaters. He tested for German F3 and was very quick (on the pace of the team's regular runner almost straight away). Unfortunately, like a lot of Aussies, he didn't have the money to run.
Saying that, though. You couldn't go too wrong with Brede either. But I'd go with Canto. I reckon it's pretty ordinary that he doesn't have a regular gig in V8s. I still remember he and Alfie Costanzo at Sandown, winning in a Maserati - HAPPY DAYS! |

They should go with Canto, as Seton_5 said Canto has a year's experience with the team and is a good driver. But what they should do isn't always what gets done.

The thing that Canto has, over say Wilson, is that with his experience, he has an idea of how to set the cars up for a race.

Canto should get the drive, but if the team were serious all this talk of David B leaving SBR they should sign him up quick smart.
