Jordan sign the Concorde Agreement to 2012
More good news, another team committing to F1.

I don't know if this is good for Formula one. The team is renamed to midland next year and it doesnt really look impressive now. F1 needs the bigger GPWC to become a strong serie. Not those little teams that maybe not even last till 2008.

Of course they'll last to 2008. As for the "GPWC" teams - they've basically indicated there will never be a rival series. The only issue is how to wrap everything up without losing face. |

Well these three teams were expected to sign anyways. Ferrari, Red Bull, Jordan.
It's hardly shocking news. And not really positive until the others start signing up in droves. Which, inevitably I guess, will happen. |

In that they supply 100% of the teams signed up! (Assuming Red Bull DO switch)

Michelin have already declined to supply Minardi in the past - they are only obliged to supply 6 teams I think.

I think it's 4 teams - 40% of the grid. Bridgestone wouldn't be obliged to supply Red Bull, but ti would obviously be greatly in their interests to do so.

It's highly unlikely. Minardi were crudely dumped by Michelin a few years back and were left with no tires until Bridgestone was kind of forced to supply.
It's unlikely Michelin would willingly supply Minardi and even give it much resource. Back to topic, Good News for F1. Although i expect most teams to sign up with F1 by the end of this year, the news that Jordan signs on comes so soon after Red Bull, it's a nice thing to know. Wonder what Ferrari has got to do with Jordan's decision this time around ![]() |

It depends of the number of tyre suppliers. When there are 2 tyre suppliers, each one of them is obliged to supply 60% of the grid if asked. I don't have the regulations at hand, but they can be found somewhere on the FIA site (it's probably in the 2005 F1 Sporting Regulations). |

I am still waiting for Toyota to switch - a full-blown, fully co-operative partnership between them and Bridgestone would be incredibly helpful. |

Dutton is right, but for clarification. These rules are freely available from the FIA website.

Colin Kolles:

So I suppose that Schnaider is doing it with the encouragement of Bernie, either overtly or throughout the season, as Schnaider seems to think that he owes Bernie something for getting him to Formula One - at least that's one interpretation of what Mr Kolles is quoted as saying. Bernie is good like that, though, if his business history is anything to judge by. |
