Well there are plenty of car manufacturers in Australia. It depends what part you are in

Although granted affordability and the series in general could be improved, I am sure our series compares favourably to the series around the globe on a number of levels. |

BMW were told to go away to play in the Super Tourer series, even though they did have a large RWD V8 sedan (at the time, the E34 540i) that could have been entered and expanded to 5.0L. Inexcusable IMO...

10 year contract for Reynolds and Erebus!
https://www.supercars.com/news/champ...r-erebus-deal/ The contract must have pages and pages of out clauses for both parties surely? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

It’s a bit surreal, anything can happen in those 10 years, which can change everything

This. Lots of room for improvement and sitting back saying "good enough" won't help anyone.

Absolutely ridiculous contract. If they'd given it to Anton it would have made a little more sense

10 years is indeed a long time. Hopefully it won't cramp his style.

He'll be in his mid-40s by then. That's typically full-timer retirement these days. In 10 years time however...

What/when was the last 10 year or longer driver contract?
Thinking it might go back to Dean Canto's deal with Briggs, which fell over not long after the ink was dry. |

Just because he has a contract doesn't mean it will be VASC forever. She has plenty of fingers in other pies. |

Perhaps a veteran like Pye, Caruso, Holdsworth or Tander for #21? Any chance for Smith in a second Blanchard Racing entry prepared by BJR? |

Blanchard has the money for a second REC, and BJR have the chassis to prepare it. Blanchard Racing already floated the idea of running two cars, when the Petronas wildcard was run at Barbagello by BJR for Blanchard Racing.
I am not sure BJR themselves have the money or interest to purchase another REC. With three cars already prepared by BJR, the step to four is not too difficult. The chassis exists, the existing second truck can be used, BJR are already running a fourth car wildcard at many events. This presumes, of course, Blanchard Racing is happy with the services provided by BJR. Regardless, it would be wise to upgrade the driver of the #21 racer as Jones has been rather unimpressive. Hazelwood or Lebrocq would likely be an upgrade, and the sponsors they bring would be most welcome to top up the Cooldrive money. The BJR cars are clearly fast with Slade and Percat often running in the top 10. Hazelwood or Lebrocq could certainly do a lot worse than racing a BJR prepared rocketship! |

Some interesting tidbits on the Fox Motorsport podcast from Stubbsy including:
- Boost possibly leaving GRM - Zane Goddard one of the rumoured drivers looking to share a REC/entry in 2020 - Kellys to Mustangs if they can cut a deal with Tickford for engines - Kellys depart the sport (rumour McLaughlin had heard) - Simona all but certainly gone next year |

This doesn't sound far fetched, both of their youth "stars" are pretty rubbish. To be fair I dunno how you think you can put 2 inexperienced guys in a team

Peter Adderton might be a buyer, but how much would the Kelly's think the entire operation is worth? Their reputation unfortunately is tarnished by the fact that they lacked both the engineering and political wherewithal to put together a winning package, even in comparison to Volvo and Erebus, not to mention Ford & Holden. As for Simona; Supercars ****ed up when they placed her with the Kellys. We've never seen what she was capable of, and she was a genuine talent. |

She is for sure more talented than her KR results show. And more deserving of a decent V8 seat than many. |
