My uneducated guess at this point is going to be BMW or Mercedes with a similar program like Nissan.... but, if I had to bet, It'll be wearing an "H" |

Not to say Joest is biased, but would he prefer a European make? I can see him doing something in the VW Group as easily acknowledged since he's been a partner of them for decades.

Audi has expressed interest in DP, why not DPi? The same engine would also work for Bent!Y. In

I would love to have a turbo v8 or a v10 in the series.

Considering the cutbacks in VAG's racing programs that killed the Le Mans program, don't get your hopes too high. Unless someone else wants to suck up the bodywork development cost(Audi's already in GTD so the "partnership fee" is not an influence at this time), the chances of Audi or Bentley joining up are slim.

Yes, and...? That's exactly what I said: Without someone else covering the bodywork development, the chances are slim. Remember, Nissan PROBABLY didn't pay for the bodywork development on the DPi - the talk is that Patron did.

Audi is not going to spend a cent on new non-customer, non-alternate energy motorsport programs in the near future.

I don't think for a second Audi is in consideration, but Bentley is another story. I'd love to see that green on a prototype again.

Richard Lloyd Racing ran the Bentley Program (as Apex Motorsport), but Joest did have a healthy hand in that project, too.

Why would the Bentley DPi use an Audi engine? I assume people are talking about the R8 GT3 engine. There's a Bentley GT3 engine, which is a completely different motor that'd be more relevant.
But the logistics of working with a team in Germany, or Europe, is far simpler, and cheaper than crossing the Atlantic. Hence Champion running the R10s in the US. |

Yes, obviously. But saying "it worked last time" implies it's the same this time round, which it won't be (even if we do get a Bentley DPi, we've literally just resurrected this rumour ourselves in the last couple of pages), as Bentley has its own racing division now.

Technically, the Bentley GT3 engine is an Audi engine, basically a Bentley spec version of the Audi S6/7/8 twin turbo V8. Though, obviously, it's tuned by Audi to Bentley's specs.

If Joest is actively pursuing a DPi program, it's going to be a company looking to boost NA marketing..and will find me a way to make it happen. Good time to check in with who is making waves in the "performance" market... one of the bigger reasons I think Hyundai might actually be a "thing" here. Penske have been working on the Honda thing for awhile, that's gonna be their kettle of fish.. BMW and Merc may have a look, though, we know that the Merc program was murdered off earlier. Maybe Joest involvement changes that... It's safe to say it won't be Dodge, or new GM competition. Would be improbable to see Toyota, and I don't think Subaru have any interest.... there are a few other long shots like a Volvo or something, but, I don't think that would be a desire for them. Joest also ran the R8's in the US from 1999 - 2003 before the ELMS/WEC took off so they have done it before
