My 2 cents is on #4 being driven by Steven Richards with either Enzed (Parker Hannifin Corporation www.parker.com) or D-Link (global IT company, www.d-link.com) as major sponsor.

don't know how it fits but at Indy a Caltex "bigwig" (or maybe someone pretending to be one!) hinted that Caltex were stepping up and not only having the 2 SBR cars in their colours but a third car in Caltex branding of some sort for Craig Lowndes (!). I believe this was said before the grog started flowing.

Wouldnt be Steven Richards as he wouldnt be allowed to announce it untill after the end of the season due to him being a Holden Sponsored Driver.

And don't forget the Caltex sponsored car in the Touring Car Challenge - be interesting to see if that turns up in two weeks time (or why it has really been missing the last couple of rounds)

Certainly sounds like James Courtney, as for the sponsor, my god, what a weird name: http://www.jeld-wen.com/.
That would be my guess anyway Stegbar is a current secondary sponsor, and they're the only one that I can see that looks like they're liking to change their corporate image to line in with their international image - which is also blue. (jeld-wen) |

Yeah thanks retro. Found them through Stegbar, I hadn't realised this thread went more than one page (I should pay more attention sometime but I was a bit excited) and so hadn't realised others have mentioned it.
The name's going to take a lot of getting used to. "and the Jeld-Wen car wins Bathurst again!" hmmmm.... |

If SBR are revealing their new driver and new sponsor at noon on Monday, what is the "biggest question of 2005" that RPM will reveal on sunday?

So are there any bets on WPS taking title sponsorship of this car?

Going on what Auto Fiction ( and now it looks like AVE$CO OFFICAL ) scribe M.Fogarty said on the v8 website that his inside info was that the new sponser company's colour is BLUE to retain the bule colour of FORD/PIRTEK. If that is the case and Mr Fogarty is right you can cancel out WPS then. |

why will the car be #4? ingall or ambrose should take the #1 so the second car would stay #9 or#2 if they wanted.

Technically SBR 'owns' number 4, while they currently 'possess' number 1 while Marcos is the reigning champion.
Perhaps too that the team does not want to build up the expectation that the new branding will appear with the #1 on the door in season 2006... when there is no guarantee of that Presumably the new BF Superbird will be painted in the new colours too |

I think that you will find that one HRT & M.Skaife have the rights to the #2. But if CL wins the championship will he take the #1 to T8 |

The only number allocated based on the championship errr sorry series is the Number 1 - no other number is reserved for allocation in this manner. So the only way INgall would get number 2 is is he and Skaife swap teams.

Do Stegbar or related brands make enough money to sponsor a V8 team ?

According to their website, SBR have tiered their sponsor inputs:
Platinum Ford Pirtek Caltex Gold D-Link Duracell Dunlop Bosch Spark Plugs Stegbar Silver LG Electronics Austech Industries Australian Sign Supplies Comp Cams SP Air Milligan's Food Group PPG Classic Model Cars Coretech SafeWaste Stahlwille Vortex Exhausts Revolution Racegear Care to pick a new sponsor out of those? If Mr Fogarty is right, the operations with the wherewithall (not so sure about the inclination) are Caltex, Duracell (Gillette), Bosch, Stegbar, LG (even thought they are at 888). |

So why do they need re-branding? Is Stegbar becoming Jenweld in this part of the world?
