Nononsensecapeesh should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Any attempt to launch a tin-top series in the UK is always going to be up against it. TCR UK has survived for now but had to evolve into the Touring Car Trophy to ensure that.

That looks fantastic.

AGS Motorsport had a 2000-spec Audi TT for Alessandro Gabrielli to drive in the 2002 DTM season.

Just looking at the SCV8 site on the wayback machine:

Quote:
To date 3 franchise teams have been appointed, with 2 more to follow shortly. Each will build and enter directly, or up to 2 via their satellite teams, 4 cars of the franchise model...

Team Dynamics - Jaguar X-Type
Vic Lee Racing - Peugeot 407
Team Varta - Vauxhall Vectra

Darryl O'Young was due to contest the final round of the 2010 DTM season in place of Alexandre Premat but didn't make the start.

Anthony Reid was somehow linked to both MG in the DTM and Brilliance in the WTCC in 2005.

I know, how ironic, since it was Premat's big crash that led to O'Young getting the seat in the first place.

There was once a rumour linking the Gumpert Apollo to the DTM around 2006/2007.

Source on that?

DTM rules at the time stipulated 4 door saloons

https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/a...ensible-season - According to this article, Alan Jones was approached by Mazda to drive for them in the 1993 Touring Car World Cup, the drive eventually went to Slim Borgudd and Australia had only Mark Skaife and Tony Longhurst to represent them.

"Gumpert Apollo entering the DTM as rumoured on Wikipedia?"

Can we really class that as rumour

I could go to Wikipedia and write and go onto the 2022 F1 page and write and write a random name on the Vacant Alfa Romeo seat

If Alfa Romeo had gone through with their proposed BTCC return with the 156, be it '98, '99 or 2000 then would they have still intended to run Fabrizio Giovanardi and Nicola Larini whatever happened?

Those two were on the entry list for 98, so definitely for that year. Not sure about other years

I just wondered as the intended part-time entry in '98 was supposed to be a precursor to a full season in '99.

My thought is that they didn't think their car would be suited to the twistier UK circuits. Where the low drag 156 has its strength is on tracks with long straights, which the UK doesn't really have.
