Bernie's HVRA Brands Hatch 7/8/9 June 2014

My entry is in for Bernie's next race at the Brands Hatch Speedfest meeting on the 8th of June 2014. Two 20 minute races on the Indy circuit planned, so far.

I,m in as well. Gave Bernie my entry and cheque this weekend at Silverstone.

It is going to be a fantastic event this year, and I reckon that Brands Hatch could have just about their biggest attendance ever, if last years first Speedfest is anything to go by.

Be good to see you. Haven't seen the 917 since Spa a good few years ago, good to see you have it running again. Still have photos of the GT40 you ran in SRGT when I drove Eike Wellhausen's D Type back many years ago.

Oh, that,s turning the clock back a bit. That was the 917s first outing back in September 2005 !! It has done a fair bit since then... all downhill !!!
Still have the 40, and if the financial fairy could wave its magic wand at me, I could just about have it out instead of the 917, as its rebuilt engine is finished but not refitted yet.
Going to be be completely annialated by all of you as I reckon I will be the only non V8 engined car out racing with you.

I have entered for the SRGT race at Snetterton on the 25th May so should get chance to see the 917 there perhaps? That's if I've finished the car before the 25th May! I've been at it weeks! Just completing the bodywork prior to the engine going back in next week.

Not long to go now for this event and I,m wondering if anyone has links to the entry list for the races.

Massive publicity already and huge turnout guaranteed for the 3 days.

No Tim,

not heard, seen or had a dickie bird about the tickets yet.

Once again, Bernie excelling himself at customer relationships, and no idea of the entry list either so far Not happy about having paid £50 more for my entrance fee.

Great publicity by MSV though, as you would expect.

Bernie's got two great Grids together, for the HVRA and the Big Bangers races. With some of our friends from the Bravo Belgian Cup series joining the HVRA series and SRGT.

Big Bangers Qualifying is on the Saturday afternoon, then HVRA on Sunday Morning, with 4 races on Sunday.

The HVRA grid should be fantastic with 5 Camaros, inc Jan Schippers from Holland and Tom Barley; Pontiac, Terry Gisborne's De Tomaso, 2 Corvettes, inc John Young; 3 Mustangs inc Bill Shepherd; and my favourite Bert Smeets Challenger. Also Ricki Cann's Aston, Sunbeam Tigers, Cobras, Graham's Porsche 917 (excellent!) and GT40. Looking forward to seeing the XJRS, Lotus 23 and particularly Michael Saunders 4.5 litre Escort mixing it! There are also a few MGs there, as well as John Wilson's red beast watch for Simon Cripps and Rob Spencer who will all no doubt be pressuring at the front!

The Big Bangers race should be awesome! Can Am cars, Chevrons, Lola, two Ford Galaxies, Pontiac, Baby Bertha and other wild cars making up the grid. With some of the more adventurous drivers from HVRA also testing the water in this no doubt fast moving grid! Watch also for Cheng Lim's Cobra in this one too.

I emailed my entry on Wednesday last week but got a phone call on Saturday asking if I am entering, it seems it's lost somewhere in the cloud.
They have however posted a weather forecast on their FB page.

Send it again! It would be great to see the D Type. I still miss racing Eike Wellhausen's old D type.

I thought your car was German (Australian/Norfolkian) not French, anyway, think of me I'll be behind you.

It'll be a bit busy! Fantastic soundtrack though.... Some of the cars must be like Cheng Lim's Cobra on steroids! There should be lots of individual races going on, as there are different performance levels of car and driver throughout both Grids. Sharing my car with Phil James, but not telling anyone which races..... I'm hoping they might not notice!

Me too! I see Adam Simmonds has got his Huffaker entered in the Big Bangers. I used to be able to keep with his yellow and black Mustang, probably not the Huffaker Can Am. I just can't believe how many different cars Bernie has managed to get in both races. My camera is going to worn out!

Can you post a link to the entry? I'm still undecided - I think my boy would love it (based on his drooling over the Mustangs that were at Brands at the Blancpain meeting) but I'm not 100% about going yet.

Just seen the race entry list.

What a fantastic line up, and possibly unique.

My little old engined Porsche is going to be totally outgunned by 99% of the field, but boy o boy, am I looking forward to this meeting.

You will hear the thunder up in Scotland !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
