It's just a shame that half of the BTCC circuits, and most of the cars, are missing from that list.

Oh, and it had better be good, unlike TOCA 1/2.

Has the game been released yet? I think the V8 Supercar version was released already?

No it hasn`t been released yet, will be in June 2002
There is no V8 Supercar 'version' of the game, only the name of the game will be different in each country

You are probably getting it confused with the V8 Challenge game by EA Sports/dice, kmchow
It was supposed to be released already but I think EA are having trouble with the lisencing of the game, which is causing the delay.

From the screenshots I have seen, Dodge Vipers and TVR Tuscans will be in there. Having watched the TVR Tuscan series late night on Channel 4 last year, they should be a real hoot to drive.

The new Proton BTCC entry is the Impian which is the same as the Waja. (The car is called the Impian in the UK and the Waja in Malaysia). The Proton Satria is basically a rebadged Mitsubishi Colt. Somebody raced a production Satria in the BTCC last year.

Some of the guys at Gamespot.com have taken the 60% complete code for a quick spin and apparently it's the dog's proverbials. I can't wait till the review code pops through my letter box a few weeks ahead of the release.

I would have expected EA to do with this legal issue earlier? Or perhaps this was intentional on the part of the competition, to force EA to spend tonnes of money on a game which it's success could largely depend on it having a fan friendly name??

OTOH, after the appearance of SCGT and GT3, I dont' think any other racing game stands a chance at competing against these two games?

well, looks like there's a nice range of cars, and tracks - variety is great, but surely we can do without made up championships? I dunno, I prefer racing in REAL-LIVE situations.

What do you lot think?

This game is going to rrrrrock, and wipe the floor with the silvery mugmat that is Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. (Which, by the way, I'm seriously considering trading in - I haven't played it since last year and seriously doubt I'll ever pick it up again...) There were shots of Mighty Minis in the promo stuff for TOCA Race Driver too...

Trust me, it's gonna be great - everyone I know who's seen it in action (or even played it) reckons this has a good shot of Best Racing Game of the Year 2002. Plus it'll probably also boost interest in touring car racing after a few lean years as well. It's all good!

Ahh but will it feature the actual drivers from these series? The lack of real life drivers spoiled Toca World Touring cars on the Ps1 for me

Sure will - so you'll be able to mix it with the likes of Schneider, Reuter, Plato, Muller, Thommo, etc.
