Silverstone Classic - Marshal's campsite
I'm doing the Silverstone Classic this weekend (27/28/29 July) and I was wondering if anybody had any information on the state of the marshal's campsite? I'm one of the 'under canvas' brigade and it would be handy to know in advance if the field is particularly waterlogged, or whether I should make any special preparations (extra beer, obviously...). I've already splashed out on some wellies - very fetching...

I'm getting up to Silverstone mid/late afternoon today. If you want to give me a ring [edit]suggest pm even though the number is published elsewhere - there's some odd people trawl the internet[/edit], I'll let you know what I find out.

I take your point but my number's published in the MSA Yearbook etc., so it's not really a secret!

We spoke to someone last night who had just taken there caravan to the circuit they said it was a little damp underfoot but not to bad. The site used for this meeting is flat so should be much better than the GP campsite.

Last forecast I saw was ok for the weekend, once todays weather passes.
Also, an amended timetable is on Silverstones website, dated 25th July. Only minor tinkering as far as I can see. Al. |

In the gate, turn left and then follow your nose/ the road.
