I'd like to try rallycross having done a fair amount of marshalling, but it almost seems a closed shop |

Pictures and Info?
Hi,
Just wondered if there were any pics of Lydden in partic the new 'loose' section up hairy hill and how the joker lap is going to work! Or if anyone has been down there, is there an update?! The 3rd of Jan is not too far away now and be good to see how the circuit is coming on! I see that ERC24 says that De Keersmacker will be going to the Feb event at Lydden, so guess that means it is going ahead, contrary to what has been suggested above? Also, any names confirmed for the Jan event? Cheers Adam |

We are going to bring the golf down for the 3rd to get some time in it before the start of the Open season.
It should go well if Mick can get the bugs out of it in time. Phil. |

Yeah I know, I was referring to the extra loose bit up hairy hill, which i think am right in thinking is to get the necessary %age of loose/tarmac. And in addition a joker lap section is supposed to be added at Paddock/running over the start finish straight (though I agree with the comments on here about how that is going to work in practice). So what I meant was it would be good to see how both 'new' sections operate on the 3rd!

Have I got this all wrong? Will this Joker lap be a tarmac one? Outside the first corner?

Thought the problem with the current configuration at Lydden is that there is too high a percentage of tarmac? So surely a tarmac joker section will add to this problem? I really don't see why a joker lap is required at Lydden as there are lots of overtaking opportunities, are they compulsary now in the ERC? Also its probably the only section of the circuit that you can't quite see from all the rest of the circuit as there is a bit of a dip.

New tracks to the calendar must have a joker lap I think.

New track?! Is Lydden not the original and oldest track?! I know what you mean, a return to the calendar. The joker lap for Lydden still sucks though.

Sadly Lydden have an basic inabilty to run a meaniful web site, eg to be up to date and informative. A few flashes on the site top line forthcoming events and then it say see the calender, when you then go to the calender you find it has not changed in months and still does not feature the Euro RallyX!
It seems incredible to me that they "invest" loads of money in the circuit and then have a web site that a 12 year old could run before school. As for the Jan 3 Rallycross entry and timetable hopefully someone will do the work for Lydden and tell a few people so they might just get a few punters through the gate. |

For RallyX internet is the best and fastest news source, papers and magazines don't write (much) about our sport.
So lydden folks: get your site sorted please. And please see this as an advice, not as criticism. |

The office at Lydden has been closed since the 19th and does not open till the 29th Also entries do not close until the 29th either. So you will probably see a entry list and timetable within the next few days |

not much better then the old website in reality, looks a lot prettier but really contains the same maybe even less information.
As for euro rallyx not being on the calendar page, the web designer probebly simply forgot as there is a flashy banner on the home page advertising it so its not as if they are expecting not to get homologation |

There are posters in the local area seen one on the M20 so at least they are advertising the event!
