Belgium Rallycross Maasmechelen 13 Sept'15

After a very enjoyable days entertainment on Sunday for the princely sum of just 10 Euros, I am wondering if anyone out their, Belgian I guess, could answer a question for me. At the end of most heats during the day, I don't think all heats and I don't recall it happening after the finals but it may of done, as the cars queued up to leave the circuit just after the first corner at the end of the start straight, one of the marshalls handed a piece of paper to one of the drivers as he drove off the circuit. It wasn't always the winner of the race either I don't think. I'm intrigued to know what the piece of paper was or its purpose. Can anyone give me an answer? Thanks
