If anyone is thinking of marshaling at Lydden for the Easter meeting, details of how to volunteer are over on the marshals forum (thought I'd better mention it as apparently Ade from SEMSEC is chief marshal rather than Anita so there will be no tickets from the BRDA).
Regards |

I think there's something wrong with your computer, Bestrep, you've missed the middle out of Kuhmo now.
Or do you just struggle with big words? |

I think all this “hate Kumho tyres” is bull! Both Jernberg and Eklund have driven the tyres to great success in the ERC. The control tyres decision is not of Kumho.

I have nothing against Kuhmo, or any other tyre for that matter. But why would Evans remain so opposed to Kuhmo as in Europe moulded tyres are the new rule? Is Lydden not a perfect opportunity for him to start testing his car on moulded tyres? With Avon develloping a (for them) complete new tyre, Kuhmo could have an edge with their experience. There is also a possibilty that some drivers will use the softest compounds used in rally. It will be a valid option as tyres need to last a full event now. All comes down to a choise between getting the tyres warm enough agains durability. back on topic: @ The Eye: do you know of any Scandinavian drivers who will come to Lydden? |

Some of the drivers use the softest compound available now and have done so from when KUMHO started with rallycross tyres in GB. Although softest compound is not always the best option ie Track/Weather/Driver style/Car. And the worst problem that i have found is So called Team Chief Mechanics/Owners, with no Knowledge on RADIAL tyres !!!!

[quote=PhergAthor]Just a small correction: They had the stickers on there cars. Paillier also in Europe, but the Kumho's only were used in wet conditions. In dry weather the grinder did the job of hiding the difference between tyres and sticker.

mel tyres
as probably the most experienced user of kumho tyres in the supercar british championship,i will endorse mels summary.I have spent a lot of events testing different compounds, set ups, sizes etc.I cant understand why certain people just dont get on with the job of preparing and racing with the tyres as supplied and prove their skills.Obviously those who moan and complain dont have the ability to compete with unknown, tried and tested products. As a good example of someone who got on with the job and produced the results look no further than Will Gollop and his team.So stop bemoaning the tyres and get on with racing like we all should.

Further tyresome talk will be pulled from the thread |

I wouldn't expect to see one until after the weekend (normally they're about a week before the event)
