they defiantly interviewed F1 greats yesterday, havent seen any today. well few I agree with you in principle, but the F1 is really a lot of dead time. its two hours from the speed comparison to the race. So the fill it with interviews like they do with the melbourne cup coverage to make it more interesting for those that are not really into motorsport |

Didn't see the point of the compulsory pit stop, thought races 2 and 4 would have been better with out it.

Given that Ch10 talked up the 60th anniversary of the Albert Park GP I thought it was disappointing they didn't show the parade (unless I missed it?)

With such big gaps between the events they could have shown some of the cars on display as well as races held earlier on and Friday. What happened to the Classic Sportscar event. Did the show it at all ?

Television's lost its way, to be honest.
I'm sure even the market outside of motorsport enthusiests they were trying to target, were probably getting annoyed at all the irrelevent filler material and colour stories, as opposed to acutal coverage of the racing itself. |

Yeah how dare the network which shelled out a small fortune to be able to cover the gp trackside plus the tv rights for the rest of the year use said gp to promote other shows on their network. What *******s!!!
Now don't get me wrong I wish they would cover all the support events but that will never happen anymore and like others have said there is always bit gaps between on track action so they always need to fill it with the b grade celebrity fluff parts. You don't have to watch it all and can switch it off between the sessions you want to watch. |

Didn't we have them in Adelaide?
A minimum of two stops for fuel or something similar - the details escape me at this moment. In hindsight the avent of compulsary pitstops in world motorport from the mid 1990's onwards should be viewed as a mistake. |

There was no cumpolsory fuel stop at Clipsal caused by a rule. It was caused by fuel consumption. We havent had rule forced pitstops for a number of years now |

In hindsight??? I could've told anyone who'd listen, as a 12yo ('93), that mandatory pit stops are bull****. Not that I'd expect any one to search, but I have said on this site, that 1993 was the last real year of F1. Not blowing my own trumpet, just saying.

F1 has certainly become gimmicky and in many ways more rigid |

I thought I heard Mark L when explaining the race strategy on his whiteboard that you could run 40 something laps on fuel, but you had to make two pitstops. Have they reduced the size of the fuel tank? Less than 125 km on a tank of fuel does seem very low. |

They're only running one tank size now, as opposed to the 75L and 120L ones.
I think the new one is 112L, from memory. |

Here it states the small tank is TBC and the large is 106 on page 26 in 9.4.1 http://www.v8supercars.com.au/files/...013-Div-C1.pdf
however here http://www.v8supercars.com.au/technical/vehicle-details it states the small tank is TBA and the large is 112. Nowhere have I found a reference to the small, maybe in the next supp regs. |

Weren't they having supply issues with the big tank anyway?
Maybe the same applies for the smaller tank, too? |

I assume they have had to do this because of the re-introduction of larger fuel tanks Its a little bit different to a 30 min race though as they will genuinely need to fill up with fuel at Clipsal, and the cars will benefit from the fresh tyres |

so the argument that it is not a performance advantage is partly correct (under the theory) less torque, not an advantage, better tarction means a quicker lap though |

Could be true, but the comment was made by T.Kelly that the timing on their engine was a result of the dyno testing.

If it was a result of dyno testing, does this not suggest that perhaps the 2 Nissans were also running non-conforming engine timing settings in both R1 and R2 of the Albert Park weekend as well?
