BMW 2002Tii papers

A friend is building up a BMW 2002Tii for racing in Group 2 spec but is having trouble finding homologation papers.
Has anybody got any ideas?
(He’s tried Motorsport UK but their list says “form missing”)

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Do you mean the MSA? If so, they should be contacting their German opposite numbers (still ADAC?) to fill the gap in their records, not giving you an unhelpful brush-off. I hesitate to say contact the German sanctioning body direct, when MSA staff are paid to do so.

In case I am putting off anyone jealous of retaining their status, I should point out that my friend doesn't want to race his car in the UK, but in New Zealand

When I get back to the office in Germany on wednesday, I'll have a look.
But he could send an email to dmsb@dmsb.de for the info. They should be able to reply in english.

An update on where we are with these papers: DMSB confirm what MSAUK said about the papers, they are lost with no copy at either the FIA the ASN or the manufacturer and therefore just not available from the official sources. BMW Mobile Tradition have supplied me with Homologation 5258 which is for the carburetor 2002 and these contain much of the info I need. What I am really looking for at this stage is some friendly soul who has a set of Homologation no 1620 and is willing to photocopy the selected pages I need.Anyone out there who fits that description?

The BMW was a very common car in the 70ties. It was raced in group 1 and 2 and properly all over the world! So my advice: try to get in contact with the former drivers. I am sure at least a lot of them have copys in the scrap book- if not an original!
If you find one please let FIA get a copy so it can be accesable for others.

I think I can give you 2 names of drivers who drove TII´s in Denmark:
Svend Engstroem
Mette Kruse

Good hunt

You could try Munich legends

email info@munichlegends.co.uk
Phone +44 1825 740456.

the owner Tony Halse used to race a Tii in the late 80's
