That Petermax Muller in post1555 (2) is a strange car.It looks to heavy for an 1100cc engine.

Thanks for the link, nice to know a little more about it. I have now found it is kept in The Prototype Museum in Hamburg.

Back in the late 40's 50's there were quite a few similar cars running in East Germany, a lot of 'specials' as 'proper' racing cars were in short supply.
Probably worth Googling something. EMW seems to ring a bell.

EMW did make some stange cars the streamliner in the picture link being one of them. EMW did get a car on the grid a F1 GP in the early 50's along with other German mrques such as BMW, AFM & Veritas.
In a later life did EMW become Wartburg?

Indeed RB, BMW Eigenbau, BMW Heck, BMW Greifzu, Klenk Meteor, etc.

Mostly only ever ran at the German GP.

Indeed. In fact Hans Klenk made just the 1 GP start in a Veritas Meteor at the 1952 German GP. The EMW just 1 start in Edgar Barth's hands in the 1953 German GP. Would be good to see some these competing again today.
