Pikes Peak – Race To The Clouds
Did anyone notice that Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima with his 1007bhp (at sea level) mid-engined Suzuki Sport XL7 TwinTurbo Hill Climb Special broke the 13 years old unlimited record of Rod Millen on July 21 by about 3 Seconds? The new record is 10:01:408 Minutes now, less than one and a half Seconds above the "sound barrier"… By the way, Per Eklund’s year 2000 record time of 11:21:58 Minutes with his Saab 9-3 Viggen T16 4x4 for the 'Pikes Peak Open category' is still unbroken.
Rallycross drivers who did The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) at least once: Martin Schanche, the first ever (and still only?) competitor who made it to the summit on three wheels…!  Olle Arnesson Matti Alamäki Thor Holm Stig Blomqvist Per Eklund Tore H. Bratlie Anyone missing? |
